2 plays from Greek openers ... I Poulter -115 and -135 vs J Leonard and YE Yang +135 vs S Kjeldsen ... that will probably be the extent of my involvement i usually keep action to a minimum this week ... gl
Outrights:
The mantra "fresh and peaking" has been my #1 guide to capping this event for years, from Day 1 through to the final, and I've not had any reason to abandon the strategy.
Alvaro Quiros(80/1) e.w.
- - Lots of game and a Nicklaus course that should be well suited . . . confident and rested, and a fine stage for saying his how-do-you-dos.
Geoff Ogilvy(25/1) e.w.
- - I think the things that have been missing most from producing higher finishes since Kapalua have been less than ideal Sunday venues and a little less focus . . . I see upgrades in both areas this week, and I'm an Ogilvyaholic who's won with Ogilvy four times, once in the desert, once in the match play, once for the biggest prize in all of sports, and once this year.
I'm placing my wager this week on, I believe, one of the most under regarded players of the last year or 8 months. Two time winner, young, big and long----
To win the tournament--
Matt Kuchar 71.00 sia
Last week he dropped out of ATT because of illness, and I'm hoping he's not sick still. This guy is going to rock and roll this week and I think he will take Boo's place on the Ryder Cup team this year. I don't honestly know why the odds are so long here, I guess no one thinks like I do.
God I hope you are wrong here. Kuchars wins were in BS tournaments. He has no Ryder Cup or President Cup experience. Kim went up against the best Ryder Cup participant of this decade and absolutely pummeled him heads up. His 'A' game is heads and shoulders above Kuchars. Obviously he wasn't focused last year, but a lot of that had to do with injuries.
Not sure how you can say he is 'long', he was 128th in driving distance last year, 182nd the year before that and 185th the year before that.
Anyway, i guess thats why they play the game. BOL on all other plays![]()
Good comments. I meant to say strong not long. My goof. I've been to more than a few tournaments and I can say without qualms, EVERYBODY IS LONG. It's surreal how much everyone just smashes the ball. I LOVE IT, IT'S FUN TO WATCH.
