This is one magazine that I literally read from front to back...page by page.
An "older" guy at work asked me...
"whats that magazine about"?...I simply pointed to the top of the cover.
SEX SPORTS BEER GADGETS CLOTHES FITNESSWhat more could man want want?
Anyways, as I was reading it tonight, I came to the jokes.( you know when you read something to yourself then just start busting out laughing, and no one knows why?)
Here it is......
Two hookers were chatting it up on the curb one night, when one says to the other...
"Hey, you ever get picked up by the fuzz?"
"No", replied the other, "but I've been swung around by the tits a few times"

I have been a subscriber since the second issue. I actually got on Ebay looking for the first copy, so I would have the whole set. Great reading every month.

Let me know the next (first) time that magazine actually has an intelligently written, in-depth article on anything at all. Total short attention span theatre. At least Playboy has the great interviews and at least one long, well-researched article on an intriguing issue like steroid use, drug laws, etc.

Great magazine, short attention span theater or not. I don't think that their intent is to churn out pulitzer caliber articles. Their mission clearly is to entertain. They succeed.

I've only read the magazine once and read a great article on Sammy "the bull" Gravano. Then again, I'm probably like most americans and have a sixth grade reading level.

Maxim never claimed to be the next Time or Newsweek. It is a highly entertaining magazine with (yes, believe it or not) some useful information. Granted there are plenty of "How to pick up chicks" articles (which are usually pretty lame, would like to see some of the tactics they recommend actually used in real life for a laugh). You have to take it for what it is and enjoy it.

When I got the July issue...I showed my wife the "Preztel Sex" headline on the cover. I told her I would read it at work and learn something new.
A few days later, when she inquired what I'd learned, I had to say...
"nothing, we've tried all but one, and remember...you won't let me do THAT one."

An excellent magazine - I have been a subscriber since the 5th issue. Maxim is what I would call a magazine for men like Cosmo is a magazine for women. Fascinating articles as well as a good sense of humor make this magazine what it is along with other countless attributes. I STRONGLY reccommend putting this on your subscription list........
