Franky, you have always seemed like a great guy and if my memory serves me have brought some good info to Madjack's. I do value your opinion. I do think it's going a little to far to say I would be on dope to think Auburn could/would/should be able to hang with USC. What is you problem with the SEC anyway? I mean you make Utah the 2nd ranked team in the country? How would Utah fair if they played , Tennessee,Georgia,Auburn,LSU,Florida, for 5 straight week's? You think they could win the majority of those games? Then in their off week's instead of playing the Sister's of Mercy et al, they could play around with the second tiered teams like South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas,Mississippi. I admit they have a great QB and a great coach (who ,oh by the way is leaving Utah, turned down Notre Dame, to go to Florida) . But do you really think they have the depth to play in a power conference for an entire season. No way.
Also 2 of the teams in the SEC that lost their bowl games were playing with a coach on the way out or an interim coach. How much $$$ would you like to have had on Iowa if Saban was not leaving. I'm just saying that a play-off would have removed all doubt. Did USC deserve a co-national championship last year? Sure. So why is it a problem for someone to say Auburn deserves one this year. The truth is Auburn was told before their game with Alabama, they had no shot of playing in the Championship game. They still went out and got it done vs. Alabama, Tennessee in the SEC Championship, and Va. Tech in their bowl game. I think that speak's volumes of the kind of team they are. To go out and win when you know you've been looked over with no shot of a title has been proven to be hard to do. We watch teams every year not show for their bowl game when they have been disappointed by not getting the game they want. ( Can you say Cal?) I hope you don't think I'm picking on you, as I said earlier I respect you. I just think your comments about being on dope if you have an opinion about Auburn are a little harsh.
