LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- U.S. Sen. John McCain says last week?s shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas was an "act of terror."

McCain said there were signs that the alleged shooter had shown "disturbing behavior" and that those signals should have been passed along to the proper authorities.

The Arizona Republican made the comments Wednesday during a Veteran?s Day speech at the University of Louisville as a guest of Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.

The shooting killed 12 soldiers and 1 civilian, and injured 29 others.

The suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, was shot by civilian police and is recovering, under guard, at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

And as he calls Al qaeda 2x times he yells out Allah Ak Bar over and over and over shooting American soldiers. Many soldiers went to their sergents before the incident and stated.."This man is a ticking time bomb" but no one reported this as it would be an act of racism. He also stated I do no want to go over there and kill my fellow Afghanistan muslims"  Terrorism? Hell yes...I could go on and on but I am off to bed w/my pistol under my pillow....NOW come yell Allah AkBar in my house:bigun: :bigun: :bigun:

Hedgie:

I'll admit, I'll probably on your side of the aisle in regards to some political views....

But I'm struggling with this crusade you seem to have to call this an act of terror?

From my perspective - does it really matter? It was a horrendous act, no doubt. But if it was terrorism - does that change how we as a country will act going forward? Or is it just a label used to make folks feel better?

It's not like we are going to nuke the Arab countries over this, and it's not like the country is going to make the decision to export all Muslims's (not that it should, of course)....

I just don't understand the importance of being able to label this cowardly act as "terrorism"...

Maybe I'm just missing something here?

Its the fact our wonderful President will not call it what it is. He is protecting the muslims from backlash, I really feel like he has not proven to me that he is not one. A spade is a spade, thats my problem. Was the guy sent here by al qaeda, I don't know until they check his computer and e-mail correspondence with their associates. He is definitely a terrorist. Why are they so PC about it, we have turned into a country of wussies.

Jeesh - Hedge I am a conservative no doubt, but I can honestly admit I don't get you sometimes - I certainly 100% disagree with your comments above.

I think "O" handled this situation pretty well. You can't blame 1 act by a madman on an entire population of people.

Hedge,

I don't know what religion you practice, that is your business, but based on your logic, should we go after all men of the clergy because of a few, uh many sick fucks who violate children?

Go to your thoughful spot for this one
