this guy may be a huge key to Mich making a huge run in this tourney - UM lacked the inside presence imo to do much before his emergence but McGary brings a whole new set of strengths to this team

McGary was the #1 ranked player in the nation by some services during his junior season of high school. Michigan went head to head with Duke for him. He put on some bad weight and regressed a bit his senior year, and his rating slipped. He showed up at UM out of shape and mid season was put on a lean diet. He lost 20-30 lbs over the course of the season and when he was finally able to put in the minutes the talent started to show. The sky is the limit for Mitch but he has another tough match up tonight.

CWood - they mentioned this on the telecast the other night but man does this kid have a set of hands or what? just the way he catches and handles the ball is amazing for a guy his size

Brady Hoke must sit and salivate when he watches him play - gl to your boys tonight

Yep, his hands are incredible for a kid that size. He's basically ambidextrous and can throw a football 60 yards with his right (off) hand. Special talent.

Thanks for the well wishes, we'll need some good luck shooting the ball tonight!

I think the kid is great and I've loved watching him play but what the hell is up with his age. He turns 21 in June. My frosh year in college I turned 19 in April. He almost has a full two years on some of the guys. He's still good and that doesn't change but wow that's a big difference in high school.

In all reality he should have been highly ranked his junior year. That age is big for young guys and their physicaly development. He's a great basketball player and then you add two years of age and maturation on top of that and really it's not very fair. I'm not saying it would have changed anything but basically he should have been in this game his Junior year in high school.

He was old for his grade to begin with, then had to go to two years of prep school to get his grades up (they were a mess). I'm sure it added to his ability vs High Schoolers and is helping him look better than a frosh right now. That said, he's still only played 38 games at the college level.
