Its hard to even think that Bradley could come in and Cinderella on Memphis . Isnt this the same scenario we see year after year.

Upstart Bradley knocks off two ranked teams to advance and meet the big hoss Memphis and then gets taken to the woodshed. What makes me think that this game is going to be any differant.

Trouble is I have seen Memphis play this year a few times but I have not seen Bradley play even once.

I know Bradley has the 7 footer but does anyone think they have a chance to win this game ?

Bradley +6.5 at the moment.

Thoughts on Bradley and Memphis appreciated.

I love Memphis to win!!! I'll most likely be on the ML with them. Yes Bradley has a solid D and the 7 footer, but if you look closely Memphis has just as good as D if not better and you know they can score. Bradley's dance ends here.....Duke I feel will be the #1 that gets knocked off Thursday....GL!! Memphis the only #1 that is 2-0 ATS in this tourney. They are solid and Bucknell was no pushover and they handled them rather easily.

i know this memphis team as well as anyone and i like you have only seen bradley once this year. first things first is the line, very scary IMO. it hasnt moved and i thought for sure it would be around 10. memphis has many things going against them foremostly will be the crowd in oakland rooting for the upstart braves. 2nd is they are most definetely looking ahead to a rematch with the ucla/zag winner.

here is what memphis needs to do: they will take it right to bradley's big man off the dribble hoping to get him in foul trouble early. they will shuffle in players on the 7fter very quickly and have at least 10 fouls to give on him playing 3 players on him, cooper, dozier and starter dorsey.

the memphis game is run you till you cant keep up anymore shuffling 10 players in at all positions. if bradley can slow the game down and make it a half court memphis will struggle. memphis doesnt run an offense persay, they have athletes who get to the hoop and who at times shoot way to many 3s which will bite them when they dont fall. they do rebound well because of their athletes.

what i would like to know from someone is how deep is bradley? how many players play every game and do they produce when they come in?

based purely on talent memphis should win by DD.
based on coaching i dont know bradleys coach, but i know coach cal and he cant be an advantage.
experience, well carney is the only one with tourney experience.
williams and washington havent even showed up for a game yet, so if they do look out!

two more points:

one in the games memphis has lost this year with the exception of uab, it has been against teams with dominate big men ie Aldridge and Shelden Williams, so we will see how that angle plays out.

two memphis has 3 or 4 potential NBA players on their roster. they are young and raw with the exception of carney, but all show signs of being able to take over a game by themselves...i'll take that anyday...

I like Memphis State to Win.

I know this is the Number 1 everyone said would lose first but that was suppose to be against PITT, aleast in my Bracket. Bradley has taken down Kansas and Pitt, a third one?? Bradley will run and be with them at the Half but the Tigers should pull away and cover.

But this has been the Year of the Dog.

Will Lose When ...

O'Bryant gets in foul trouble or his teammates don't involve him enough. His size makes up for many mistakes and anchors the defense. He's not the Braves' most talented offensive player, but everyone else is better when he's on the floor.

Famous Last Words

The Braves are intriguing because of O'Bryant and if they can win a game the entire country will get to know the name. But, ultimately, it will be defense that carries Bradley to any success.

ESPN's Take

After a January loss at Creighton, Bradley didn't have anything resembling the look of a NCAA tournament team. The Braves were 9-7 overall and had an RPI of 64. But Bradley was very much the Valley's best team during the final month of the season. Scoring points in bunches, Jim Les' team won nine of its final 11 regular season games, a stretch that included wins over Missouri State, Southern Illinois and a 22-point win at Northern Iowa. Even so, Bradley had work to do at the Missouri Valley tournament. The Braves knocked off Creighton in a quarterfinal game and defeated regular season champion Wichita State in the semifinals before losing to Southern Illinois in the championship game. Forward Marcellus Sommerville leads Bradley in scoring with 15.8 points per game. Patrick O'Bryant, however, is the guy the NBA scouts are watching. The sophomore 7-footer is a true back-to-the-basket center -- both rarities in the Missouri Valley -- and has made huge strides since high school and averages 13.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and about three blocks per game.

war

I did not like reading that Bradley beat Wichita State.

Maybe its the end for Memphis or at least it may go down to the wire.

Fresh off a 77-73 upset of No. 4 Kansas on Friday, Bradley (21-10) will turn to leading scorer Marcellus Sommerville to lead it again. Averaging 15.5 points this season, the 6-7 senior forward scored 21 points, made five 3-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds to shock the Jayhawks.

Doing the same to the Panthers (25-7) will prove a lot more difficult.

Of the previous 19 No. 13 seeds to win the first round, only three have gone on to reach the regional semifinals.

The last was Oklahoma in 1999
