I saw in ddubs post that ya asked about the rules of hockey......I'm assuming your heading off to your first hockey game.........I just thought I (and sure other madjackers) would give ya a couple pointers on how to make your first game an enjoyable one:

1) Get there early..........meaning get there to watch them warm up........usually they start warming up about 35 minutes before puck drop.........most rinks will let you walk right down to the glass, this way you can get right up next to the players. You will see just HOW BIG these guys are......and you'll see just HOW FAST that puck flys through the air (note: they shoot it harder during the game.....they won't shoot high on their goalie either...don't want to injure him...you'll see they keep all their shots low low low)

2) Get a program.........if it's your first game........ya just gotta get a program :)

3) When watching the game........take a look at the bench, watch how the players jump on and off the ice (called changing on the fly)........only major sport where players a substituted during play.

hope ya have fun at the game :p

and trust me.........there is no sport better to watch live then hockey........you'll see

Yup, kickserv covered it all. Definitely should get to a game early. My favorite part of the warm-up is when you have everyone on the team line-up side by side on top of the face-off circles and fire slap shots in sequence at the goalie. Pretty awesome seeing how fast the goalie gets up and down to get in position and face the next shot.

Agree about hockey being the best watched live in person. Watching it on the tube does not do it justice. It's well worth the price of admission......unless you're a Leafs fan, I guess. I heard it costs an arm and a leg to get a tix up there in Toronto.

You're gonna have a blast.

i don't know why kyle the last time i saw a leafs game on tv it looked like a ghost town in there

it looks that way because those are GOLD seats usually in the camera shots......corporate stiffs probably own those seats....they don't show up to any games.....and if they do, they're usually on their fawking cell phones.....

and yes, i have sat in those seats....my buddy gets me gold seats on my b-day the last 3 years.....it's great to watch......

but i wouldn't be a season holder.:thefinger

yes............to get a Leaf ticket ya pretty much have to kill someone

that's so true.

don't ask how i got the gold tickets though......those peeps
are swimming with the fishes....
