How in the fuck didn't the marlins just forfeit the rest of the season ?
They are out of the playoff hunt and have nothing to play for...
The best guy/player in the organization died yesterday.
My old man wants to go to pay respects to Jose since we had already planned to go see him pitch.
I am absolutely bummed out. I don't even want to go.
I think for an organization with such little class to begin with...They should have shut it down.
It's not like anyone was showing up at the stadium to begin with...
Last Monday night maybe 3,500 people were there...
I think they should have cancelled the rest of the season and had a memorial/tribute to him.
The guy had so much spirit and life !
That dugout is going to be a fucking death zone. Players will be crying for sure...How in the world would you expect those teammates to go out there and perform at a high level when he will be missing from the game ?
I mean come on he was expected to be pitching too !

I have to believe the Marlins will mentally/physically are shut down with nothing to play for ?

I see Bisket has game of the year on the Marlins ? Does anyone else think they win one for Jose (with nothing to play for) and they suck ?

Complete silence inside Marlins Park as the Marlins just came out for stretch and batting practice...
No music - A somber and surreal atmosphere..
No talking No usual chatter - The stadium is dead silent...

Terry Collins - Mets are devastated by the news and are honoring Jose with his Mets jersey hanging in the Mets dugout.

He says Jose would have wanted the game to play on...

Man the whole thing is just terrible....

The mets have a lot to play for with such a tight wildcard race. Hard to say how the marlins will react today.

Just sit back and take it in. I have a feeling you will never forget this game. Just terrible.

Mets in W/C chase, need to have this one, "T", emotions will definitely be in play, 58% of public is on Miami moneyline thus line dropped from Mets -120 at open to -108 now, it went up 11 cents when I got the play in and this by far has been my worse MLB season ever capping.

I'm sure Mattingly will have a rah rah speech for today, Miami has a very slim shot with a week left for the W/C so the Marlins will be all out to win one for Jose tonight, the place will be very somber and celebratory as well, but you can't take the element of Mets needing this win worse than anything with the Giants still in it along with the Redbirds.

Fat boy Colon has beaten Marlins twice, Conley is 0-2 this year vs Mets and he hasn't pitched over an month, last start was 8/13/16 and he's been regressing ever since the All-Star break, Colon is the only pitcher still healthy enough to help the Mets get to post-season.

Mets are 10-6 SU this year vs Marlins and 8 overs and 7 unders, total moved from 8 1/2 down to 8 and yet 80% on the Over still.

I like the Mets in this spot especially off a 17-0 blowout of the Phils on Sunday after the Phils put up a 10 spot on them on Saturday.

GL!
