I didn't mean that Alomar was a quality guy in the clubhouse, I meant that in two weeks time they've gone from a Manuel death watch to selling off their future to win today. It will pick up the whole clubhouse as this team has been given up on so many times.
A concern would be that the Sox have a passive coach and no team leader to speak of. No one's gonna keep Everett in check. Alomar wouldn't have been a problem due to his happiness in getting out of New York and being able to play with his brother.
