Ok, lets go over this:
Akron up by 2 points:
6.6 seconds left. Akron misses a free throw which is immediately tipped by Miami. Within a half a second at the most, the same Miami player gathers the ball (clock finally starts) and drives to the other side. Miami shoots a rainbow 3 pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining and the ball hits the backboard and in at exactly 0.0 seconds. Miami players, coaches, staff storm the court. The officials take at least 10 minutes to check the replay and finally decide to give the ball to Akron with .6 seconds remaining because the clock did not start on time!
Well, lets think about this. If the clock didn't start on time and it took 6.6 seconds for Miami to run its play when the clock finally started then didn't it actually take Miami OVER 6.6 seconds to run the play and the ball to finally go through the net? There's no doubt the Miami player got the ball off in time no matter which scenerio because he shot it with 1.2 seconds remaining but how the hell does anyone in their right mind give the ball to Akron and argue there was time left?!?!?!?!
Makes absolutely no sense and the officials including the MAC chairman couldn't figure it out and ruled Akron had .6 seconds left.
Thank God it didn't matter but seriously, what is wrong with people and their logic over something so easy to figure out?
