I love Miami here. Waiting to see what line does. If it goes to 3, i'm all over it. Probably will play it big at 4 or less. My feeling is that VT is very formidable, but they just don't have the same level of talent. Miami is a ton. I think they tend to do well in games like this, where there is "potential upset." Often, when they are heavily favored, they let their guard down. But, when there is talk of them losing, they come out with a chip on their shoulders. And this usually spells trouble for opponents. Seriously, I think Miami will convincingly win in this spot. This isn't Rutgers, Southern Delaware, Western Hawaii, etc. VT always good enough to beat teams they should, but lose when they are supposed to. This is one of the those times. Miami just more talented, and more thuggish-ruggish. VT exposed for a second straight week. Don't think Randall will be able to throw against Miami. Hurricanes win convincingly. Hope you take the Canes. Good luck.

i have to go the other way here - really like the hokies in this spot. after the loss and at home=no pressure imo.

i think they had 10+days to think about the wvu loss and quickly forget about it. work on some holes and get ready for the canes. i don' think they are as bad as they looked last wednesday night and i don't think the canes are as good as people think. should of lost to both the gators and the mountaineers. just not sold on miami. that fsu win means crap - to me anyway. i can think of a number of teams better then fsu (lsu, usc, georgia). their #3 bcs ranking is junk, but that is a different post all together.

i played VT +3.5[/B]...think it's close

one note for miami backers - i was hoping for some cold weather, but it is suppose to be in the upper 70s and mostly sunny on saturday. kickoff temps in the mid 60s. i seem to recall quite an indian summer last time the canes made the trip to blacksburg in dec 2001. game was played in temps around 70 with the canes winning a close one.

Waiting for Miami @ Pittsburgh 11-29

Waiting for Miami @ Pittsburgh 11-29

Here is who Virginia Tech has played this year.
Central Florida
James Madison
Tex A+M
UCONN
Rutgers
Syracuse
West Virginia

Virginia Tech is coming off a truly serious beating at the hands of West Va. That alone would make me stay away from V. Tech.

UCONN actually had more yards than Va. Tech in their loss @ Va. Tech.

Texas A+M is suspect at best.

Syracuse isn't as formidable outside that Carrier Dome.

Miami has to face temperatures in the 40's Saturday Nite.
Miami has Tennessee in The On Deck Circle.
Miami has played a tougher schedule so far.

Skipping this game but good luck...

I AM WAITING FOR MIAMI @ PITTSBURGH NOVEMBER 29th. That may be the game that Miami bites the dust in a frigid Pittsburgh, if not this week or next week vs. the Vols.

Deangelo Hall is officially a dipshit. As I have already mentioned, Miami usually comes out like worldbeaters when they have "something to prove." Well, Hall apparently made some remarks that should only get Canes even more fired up. According to Hall, "they don't have those super athletes like they had in the past." Asked about the offense, Hall said, "I don't think they're as potent as last year." He also inferred that Miami's offense is weaker this year in every area. Thanks, Deangelo. Prepare to be destroyed. I'm still gonna wait and see if the line drops to 3, which it probably won't. But, this just reinforces my theory on Miami, who seems to play inspired only when facing a significant challenge. Hokies will be overwhelmed.

Couldn't agree more. After that display at W. Virginia I have a hard time believing V. Tech can compete.
