When I cap this game the average points for these teams is about 61 the over/under is 71 any thoughts?

TOUGH ONE---OPENED UP AT 69 AND MOVING UP,MIA OH. WILL GET THEIR POINTS,IT DEPENDS ON WHICH OFFENSE SHOWS UP FOR LOUVL.--I WOULD LEAN THE UND. BUT DONT THINK I WILL BACK IT.
With how dominate Rothlisberger is I originally was going to be all over Miami and the over. Now seeing how high the over is makes me wonder. Vegas obviously thinks this is going to be a shoot out with the score being around 42-29. Thats an average of 11 points +/quarter for Miami and 7+/quarter by Louisville, thats a lot of points. Miami has scored 41 points or more in 10/13 games and they do average 42.5 points per game. This is a tough call. I wanted to take Miami and tease them and the over. A tease would get them at -6/Over 64. Thats still pretty high on the over. I could see Miami getting 38-49 points because Rothlisberger is the best QB in College football but if he comes out gunning early and gets a lead will Louisville have the heart to stay in the game and continue to try and gun the ball down the field? They like to run the ball and this could be a problem for the over.
A few weeks ago when the Bears played the Cardinals in Chicago, I posted the same type of thread. In that instance the average total points for the two teams was around 42 and the O/U was 36. The final scored only yielded only 31 points so Vegas obviously knew something. Is this the case again tonight?

I hit the under last night...I really think this game between Miami, Oh and Louisville will be a shoot out. I am like the rest of you guys, I don't want to back either way. What is everybody's opnion on the who to take? I am leaning toward Miami but 13 is a lot of points.
Fabulous-The line is set not where Vegas always thinks it will end up but where Vegas thinks most Players expect it to be.It is set with the intent of inducing equal action on both sides so they don't have to gamble with their money.There are times that if they set the line in what they know to be the right place it will tip off the outcome.Sometimes that happens anyway,but they put it where most would expect it to be based on LAST WEEK's(reads recent memory) results of both teams.My feeling about the total is that they don't want to get beat on the over in a game where the star QB is all anyone is talking about,because the casual bettor will be all over that.Possibly they set the line so high for this reason.I'm playing the side in this one.Miami-13..GL either way

It's cold to us rednecks down here (Mobile, Ala), sun shining, temps in 30's to 40's. Forecast for game is in 40's around game time, no rain expected (at this time), but weather changes here close to the gulf fairly quick. There will be no rain today (Wed), rained yesterday, but with no additional rain, field (which is grass) should be fine. Big total for this game, but recent history (2 yr.s ago), Marshall and East Caroilna set all kind of scoring records for bowls so that helps with the hype of wide-open offences and scoring like, like, well, Camache's on crack. Leaning to Mia.O and looking at under 70'.

I don't think Louisville wants to get in a passing match with Miami. If Louisville wants to stay in the game, I think they've got to run the ball (i.e. - use up clock). Throw in some stalled drives, a couple missed field goals, a handful of missed opportunities on both sides and it all adds up to an under play for me.

i like miami -13.5 and under we shouldnt forget that these teams have not played in a while and may be a bit rusty, so it could takem a while to get things going. i just think 70 may be a bit too much.
My .02 worth. I'm sorry but I think this total is way too low. I see it in the 90's. Teams score as often as they can in the 1st half. Roth is going to throw for at least 4 TD's 1st half you can bet. I'll give Louisville 14 points at the 1/2 but I think they'll score more than that. Louisville will be playing catch up all night. Leads to incomplete passes which stops the clock or picks. Roth will not hold back. I expect 6 TD's thrown by him alone.

My numbers came out to Louisville and under. I figured close to 61 also for the total. Louisville avg. 35 ppg offense while Miami was 42.5 ppg. Defensively, Louisville yields about 24 ppg while Miami was just under 19 ppg. Not sure about the strength of schedule but eyeballing it I would say Louisville played a tougher one and did not play anyone as weak as Buffalo which Miami beat 50 something to 3. I'll definately take 13.5 as Miami is getting all the positive press with Mr. Rothlisberger. Louisville has to keep the ball out of his hands which means ball control offense. This should be a very entertaining game and I think Louisville hangs in there. At least I hope!!!
