If you like ND, get it now while 7 is still on the board.

UM gave up 7 ypc and over 400 yds to NIU last week. The defense was a joke. Over is looking nice.

No new major injuries to speak of, but starting middle linebacker David Harris should be back for the game, and could help some against the run for UM.

I agree the defense didn't look good and that the OVER should be the play this weekend. Carr is going to have the team fired up but I think that will translate into a high scoring game versus a defensive battle as neither team has much depth on D, which is rare.

I would lean toward the under at 59. This game has never gone over a number that high. Since the series resumed in 2002, it hasn't gone over 50. People should get too excited about ND rolling over Pitt because Pitt's defense is rotten. Lloyd is pissed about the way his defense played and they will be better for this game. I'm going to wait for the public to pound the over and maybe we'll see 60 or 61 by Saturday.

Lloyd was pissed after the OSU game last year, and had a month to prep for Texas. It didn't matter. I hope I'm wrong, but I would be very surprised if they held ND under 30 this week. Charlie Weiss coaching against Jim Herrmann (Michigans DC) is like Shaq playing my 6 year old nephew in a game of one on one.

Lou Holtz picked the Irish by "two touchdowns" on ESPN yesterday.

:look:

It wouldn't suprise me! Also, it wouldn't suprise me if Michigan won by two touchdowns. No one can honestly say how this game is going to play out.

Michigan has lost 3 games in 35 years by 14 points or more at the Big House. It would surprise the hell out of me!

I think ND is much improved for last year, I can't read to much into that Pitt win againt a proven loser like Wannstache. . Still waiting for his twin brother Dennis Farina to star in another good mob movie. Pitt RB's only ran the ball 19 times for 112 yds. Feeling pretty confident Mich's RB's will have twice as many. Think that Mich run game will take it's toll in the second half and start to pull away form ND.

If ND beats Michigan by 2 TD's @Michigan, I am going to start sweating bullets on Oct. 15th.

Michigan did not look impressive last week while ND did. I think you gotta side with ND +7 over Michigan on that alone. Weiss might be the real deal and if he is, 7pts is a $hit load of pts to give a team with an excellent coach.

I thought ND could pull at 3pt win against Pitt @Pitt, never thought they would dominate.

FWIW: a respected UM insider says "expect a long day for the Irish". This person has been known to attend practices and speak with coaches. The same message was passed before the game two years ago.

We'll see.

I believe Pitt would be a walking embarrassment in the Big House on Saturday, but I forsee some tough sledding for any designs the Wolverines have for putting away a purposeful Irish squad before the fourth quarter even starts.

I tend to agree with you LIA, but I also took ND and the points in '03.

ND's talent is underrated, but playing back to back roadies is tough on anyone.

Solid trend for UM here also:

14-0 SU and 11-3 ATS in the 2nd or 3rd consecutive home game since 98 season. Average margin of ATS win in the 11 ATS wins: 14 pts. Average margin of ATS loss in the 3 ATS losses: 1.33 pts.

maybe I'll talk myself into betting on my boys after all :mj14:

Yeah right - Long day for the Irish. That guy needs to stop smoking the "good" stuff. This is the same offense that dropped 28 pts on Michigan last year with the worst offensive coach in NCAA history. The Big house is very hard to win in for anybody. Michigan will be tough to beat no doubt. But if you think they are going to get beat 38-0 again. You're delusional.

I'm staying away from this game personally. I love my Irish, and am looking forward to a great game. If the Irish stay close, I will be satisfied. If ND wins watch out... We will be tough to beat for the rest of the year.

It's amazing when a team like Pitt gets beat then all of the sudden they are overrated. T. Palko is a better QB than C. Henne and better pro prospect. Pitt would beat N. Illinois anywhere.

As I mentioned, Michigan would be tough to beat by anybody walking into the big house. But N. Illinois racked up over 450 yards against the Michigan defense last week. ND has a better offensive line and RB's than N.Illinois. This will be a close game throughout. If the Irish somehow pull out a victory in the big house that would be great for the program. I'm personally hoping for a great game with ND playing them tight.

agree completely and I'm jumping on the 7. Always a close game and I think the Irish might start to believe and that is a dangerous thing. Good luck with your plays

Cheers

You do realize that Chad Henne was a true freshman last year? And not one of those freshman that comes in for spring ball the year before. He was in A2 for three weeks when he took over the reigns last year.

Palko is a good college QB, no more no less. Barring serious injury, Henne will be a top 5 pick in the NFL draft. Dude has a cannon.

btw, I think Quinn will be a first round pick also. He is a major talent. Reminds me a lot of Joey Harrington at Oregon.

All I am doing is passing along what I hear. This insider has a pretty good track record. For instance, he told me UM was going to get blown out by Iowa in 02 the Thursday before the game.

Not expecting 38-0 by any means, but based his input I think I will put a medium sized play on UM minus 6.5 when it gets there.

This game was +14 in early season futures and out of principle, I can't back the Irish based on the line swing and they torched Pitt's D last year, too. Also, I don't think Pitt challenged ND's pass defense which still is a ?

Looking forward to watching this as I saw an Irish football team for the first time in a decade last week.

Henne is going to be a top 5 pick... :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

You have got to be kidding me. Homer.

Palko (JR)
2004 Stats 3067 yards, 56.2% completion, 24 TD/7pks, and 92.6 rating.

Henne (Soph)

2004 Stats 2970 yards, 60% completion, 27 TD/12pks, and

College Football News/CBS Sportsline top 200 players:

Tyler Palko Ranked #17th

Chad Henne Ranked #126

Palko is a legit 1st round pick. Just log onto any future NFL draft site. If you think Henne will be a top 5 pick I seriously would have to question your expertise concerning college football.

I don't want to get into a pissing match with you. It should be a great game. Michigan has a good chance of covering the spread. GL... Although, I hope they dont. :)
