It has been a great Feb so far going 20-8 in my quest for mediocrity. 'Capped them all and playing them all. Some quick observations to share first:
MAC EAST > MAC WEST. IMO All six teams in the East are better than the five of the top six in the west. Western gets a pass on this due to their constant injuries. They probably have the best talent in the west.
Toledo has really improved. They hung with Buffalo at home, think that they have a shot tonight with Pierson being the best player on the floor and probably the conference.
Buffalo is a tough team to figure, often playing up and down to the level of their competition as in the Toledo game. That said, CMU has no heart and looks like a team that has given up. The Chipps can't score easily and frequently get beat down the floor. I think that the Bulls cruise and hope that CMU keeps it ugly enough to stay under.
E Mich simply can't score but they do employ a decent zone. They were badly exposed by Akron and think KSU can do the same. The Eagles home floor is of little advantage to them but if they can control the pace somewhat this game should go under.
Western Mich played much better vs Kent on Sat and this can be tough spot for the talented Zips. The Broncs have the size to match up and have gotten healthier with the return of guards Ward and Pokely. The Zips can't hit their FTs which makes them vulnerable tonight. Akron is the better team and has owned W Mich no doubt, but the best team does not always win. Just a small play on the side but I do like the total. Should be some good pace here.
BG is very quietly playing great ball. Their zone must contain J Jones tonight and if successful the Falcons can win it. Ball St has faltered badly of late
N. Illinois is one of the poorest teams in the nation. Miami should win by double digits, 'nuff said.
FH: Toledo +4 (1)
FH: Buffalo -3 ( 1)
FH: Kent St -3' ( 2)
FH: BG/Ball St under 58 (2)
FH: Miami/NIU under 55' (2)
Buffalo -5' ( 3)
Buffalo/CMU under 135 (2)
Ohio/Toledo over 135 (3)
Kent St -6' (4)
Kent ST/ E Mich under 119' (1)
W. Mich/Akron over 139' (3)
W. Mich +3 (1)
BG +2' (2)
Mia -9 (1)
