Over the guy that is winning the AL Triple Crown on a team that barely made the playoffs? How does the math work for that one?

Anaheim has more wins than Detroit last time I looked.

Cabrera is the best hitter in the AL this year, but he sucks at defense. Trout has 30 HR and almost 50 SB. He is the best defender in the AL and the best base runner. His WAR is 10.3 to 7.3.

I'm not saying Trout will win but he should. There are still a lot of dinosaurs who vote for these things.

Miggy's WAR 7.3
Trout 10.3

i dont mind numbers for a argument...and i know your a smart guy...so this isnt directed at you...

but
I think wins above replacement is a joke....

how do these "number analysts" know shit...

noone knows how many more games you would win/lose with a replacement...

so if you took trout out of lineup and added miggy, your tellin me the angels woulda lost additional games...

dont buy it....put miggy on the angels and they are in the postseason...

i said miggy has better avg, power, rbis,

and LOSES runs and stolen bags

Got ya my bad, and on the issue of war. All the stats you mention do not consider fielding. Trout is over 21+ runs better then MCab in the field.

I am not saying that Cabrera will not win the award but Trout has been the better player this year.

those stats do not properly measure a players worth.

Jeter is hitting over 300 but is the worst defensive short stop in the game due to the fact he has zero range.

Just because he leads those categories means nothing.

Trout is the better player this season.

You are leaving out defense. And you can throw RBI's out. They don't mean shit. And you can throw out the fact that Detroit made the playoffs. Anaheim has a better record and had to play the AL West.

OPS, he's almost 50 points higher and has 40 less strike outs. It's a subjective award, but I think he's a shoe in. Winning the Triple Crown is a pretty amazing feat, not sure why it is getting so discounted.

In no way am I discounting the triple crown, its an amazing feat.

It just happens to fall in a season where there is a better all around player in the same league.

i might not argue with that, since trout has been here he may have been better

miggys extra at bats to pad the stats may be what make me think he should get the nod...

if trout doesnt miss a month, i probably would be arguing different....

trout i think will go down as one of best ever...

i fuckin love watching him....

just think this is miggys year

Its a nice little feat but its three stats grouped together. The BA isn't important anymore and RBIs is worthless. I bet he wins but he shouldn't.
