This guy made so many mistakes yesterday and he got bailed out by Mr McFeely 3 times.

First of all with 4th and one from the 4 and a one point lead you kick the fieldgoal and make the giants score a td to beat you. Granted he got in and went up eight, but this move actually may have killed seattle bettors believe it or not.
Seattlle goes up eight and the defense got a little soft knowing the worst that could happen was overtime. As opposed to being up for and guarding that end zone like their lives depended on it.

The other huge one obviously was not taking anytime off the clock after the giants scored. You have to be content either going to OT there or you take one shot than take as much time as you can on the next two plays. Passing 3 times and giving the Giants the ball back in good shape was Herm Edwards stlyle.

I said early in the third quarter if Seattle would commit to the run with Alexander the rest of the way they would take over and win by 10. I also said that Holmgren was too dumb to do this.

Guess what he was.

Be careful putting money on this guy down the stretch. He is god awful

not sure how seattle kicking the fg with 4 mins left to put them up 4 helps seattle bettors when the spread was 4.5 or 5

but, from a football sense....he made the right call...they needed two inches and you are on their 4 yard line.....oh and you have the nfl's leading rusher in your backfield....a no brainer if you ask me.....now, increasing the lead from 4-7 or 5-8 or 6/7/8 to 9/10/11....maybe i think about kicking it......but from 1-4....go for it.

Totally disagree. you have to make it so a fg can't beat you there.

Secondly spread was 4 nearlly all week so smart bettors who play early would have gotten the push at least.

Mike Holmgren has a reputation as a "Good Coach" because of his record and Super Bowl win at Green Bay...but the man behind his success was Gm Ron Wolf who built that team and supplied the talent for Holmgren to benifit from...even Holmgren couldn't screw that one up!...veterans like Reggie White wouldn't let him.

All in all...I agree...Holmgren is Overrated!

i disagree with you about going for it on 4th and inches, as a giants fan, i was hoping they would kick the fg so manning could lead them down to a go ahead td and win. as it turns out he did just what holgrem was worried about, so he made the right call there.

throwing it 3 straight times and giving the giants the ball on the 50 with a minute left in reg, yeah, that was real dumb

I thought I was a nut for thinking the same thing. Point is with them up 4 the Seahawks would have to play strong D. Play for their lives! At eight tho...... I just knew they were going to punch in 6 and go for two, either way with that we were screwed.

Holmgren's TO in OT was huge...it allowed ample time to review Shock's non-catch and reverse the call...give the man his props

disagree....going for it on 4th and an inch on the 4 with 4 mins left up 1 was the right call.....had it been a yard or more, kick it.

just because they would have been "forced to play defense up 4" doesnt mean they would have stopped the giants.

We agree to disagree.

Ditka and Madden both on radio today were saying the sound play is to go up 4.

Its over now. I just don't think he is a sound coach

as evidenced by the clock blunder at the end of regulation

He was bad in Green Bay too. Could not help but go to the Superbowl twice with that talent.

As a matter of fact he cost the Pack the second superbowl win.

Clem I could not agree more, I had Seattle teased and parlayed and I saw and outright defeat coming. If you look at the last couple years (Rams game last year) it's as if he has never been there. And iif he had not made the 4 down what would be discussing now?

What kills me is two Giants TDs were NOT TDs. 1- Shockey only got one foot down. It was obvious. The other was not so obvious. Yes he got the first foot just inside the line, and drug the second foot. But before he drug the second foot, the first foot rolled over the line. I was sick. I hate the frigin Mannings. Whenever they over throw some one or get one picked off they make those friggin things with their hands. Indicating with their hands the reviever blew the route or something. Every time I see them (especially that prick Payton) do that I want to grab him by the head and bite him on the bridge of his nose!

Clem you see any value tonight?

The opening line for Seattle/NYG was 5 not 4,it opened at 5 was bet down to 4- and though I didn't see it I guess 4 at some places, but it did not open at 4.It jumped up to 5- late saturday then back down to 4 by kickoff. That said,he is a really bad coach.I've seen that pass when you could run out the clock with a couple of runs thing much more than a few times. He never learns.Last year when they played the patriots I thought his best chance was to bang alexander a lot and not ask Hassleback to do too much. What does he do?passes 6 or 7 straight times to start the game, culminating with an opening drive inty run back to the 30 going in.Down 7-0 no chance to stick with the run when you're Big Mike Holmgren. He must think he's Wild Bill Walsh he passes so much, with that stupid sneer on his face on the sidelines.Hes not even close to Walsh. He really misses Fritz Shurmur, the longtime D coordinator who died right after he came to Seattle.

He also had defensive coordinator Fritz Shurmur, who has since passed and Holmgren has not done a thing since. Shurmur was a very good d coor and went to Seattle with Holmgren but got sick the first traning camp..........
