SPORTS ILLITERACY IS A HORRIBLE THING!!

Why are you bragging about having 3 SEC teams ranked in the top 10? Why would anyone brag about SEC teams?

FLORIDA has OOC wins against......

Southern Miss
UCF
Western Kentucky
@Florida St.

3/4 @home, only 1 BCS team. How good is FL?

LSU has OOC wins against........

Louisiana-Lafayette
Arizona
Tulane
Fresno St.

All 4 @home, only 1 BCS team. How good is LSU?

Arkansas has OOC wins against..........

Utah State
Southeast Missouri State
at Louisiana-Monroe
LOST to USC @home 50-14.

3/4 @home, only 1 BCS team. How good is Arkansas?

These OOC games are PATHETIC. How good are these "top 10" SEC teams? We have NOTHING to judge them by. OOC games are pathetic AND they all seem to play @home. Arkansas is the only one who played 1 real OOC opponent and they got crushed at home 50-14. What does that say about the SEC? SEC is afraid to be held accountable. LOOK at these OOC opponents. PATHETIC!

Oh my bad. SEC beats up on each other in conference play. YEP! SEC IS SUPERIOR! My bad.

Maybe SHULA @ALABAMA got fired because he had 6 wins this year, but 4 of those wins came in OOC play. Alabama's OOC schedule is PATHETIC TOO!

Hawaii
Louisiana-Monroe
Duke
Florida International

ZERO BCS teams and ALL AT HOME!

But I am sure an SEC HONK is going to brag about how many bowl eligible teams there are in the SEC. Since ALABAMA has 6 wins, they are bowl eligible. :mj07:

YEP, SEC is the best!

Can you understand Playing 4 top ten ranked teams on the road? Or even 4 top ten ranked teams in the same year? I dont think so!! Happens in the SEC alot!! NEVER IN THE PANSY-10!! How hard is that to understand! 10 weeks of pansies you can cruise thru, no injuries, dont have to get up every week(forgot USC lost to a high school), alot different than playing staunch comp every week or every other week!! Listen to ESPN radio (they love your boys) but say everyday if USC, MICH,OHIO ST, Or anybody else were in the SEC would be a total different story!! They go on and say the conferences these teams are in are weak and you can mark USC, MICH, OHIO ST at the top of there conference every year!! SEC You cant there are 5-7 that can win it every year!! Big difference!! ITS TRUE!! You may not want to believe it or dont but anyone that knows college football will tell you the same!!!

dlvlsu,

As a fellow SEC fan, I have to say, you are making the rest of us look like idiots. USC has played a tough schedule, so to question that is just plain being stupid. I don't like it any more than you, but they deserve to go more than Florida. Now, personally, I think Michigan would be a better matchup, but again, that is neither here nor there.

I do think USC better be real careful this week though:nono:

Back to the subject at hand, when does Bama plan on having a coach in place? I don't think a big name such as Rodriguez is going to make a move until the end of the season and the faithful will be in civil unrest if they wait that long.

Skipper, all the media reports are that they won't announce a new coach before this weekend's football games. In my opinion, the AD, President and Board of Trustees have a lot of egg on their face from not only how they handled the firing of Shula, but also his hiring and the Mike Price episode. They will spend as much time as it takes for them to get a big name candidate... there is too much at stake for them personally and for the football program to make another bad hire. One of the problems with that school of thought though is that every school is on the road right now trying to get recruits. A decision needs to be made to get some stability, but I doubt a coach is named for several more days. It certainly isn't helping that the university is getting KILLED in the public relations department. Columnists from ESPN.com, SI.com, College Footbal News.com and others are just blistering 'BAMA with their decision.

One other thing that I think needs to be addressed as far as this whole SEC vs the world comments that popped up in this thread. Lord knows I'm not a PAC-10 fan... but they are the only conference I'm aware of that when the NCAA allowed for a 12th game to be added to the schedule they made that extra game a conference game. All the other conferences were in a hurry to line up Ball State, Florida International/Atlantic or some directional school. They have a true conference champion because every team plays one another. I'm not a fan of rematches in bowl games, let alone for the national championship. Michigan got their shot at the Buckeyes and it wasn't good enough. Someone else deserves a crack at them whether it be USC or Florida. If both teams finish 11-1, I don't see how Florida has a chance. Florida's non-conference opponents this year were Southern Miss, Central Florida, Western Carolina (Division 1-AA) and Florida State. USC's three non-conference opponents were Nebraska (playing for the Big 12 championship), Notre Dame and Arkansas (playing for the SEC championship). As much as I would like to see an SEC school play for the title, it's not going to happen this year... and quite frankly unless an SEC team runs the table to go undefeated, never will (Auburn 2004). The parity in the SEC for football is like the Big10 in basketball... everyone beats up on everyone else. Just my opinion.

War,

How much is he making at SC? I ask this because I do not see him leaving for just a little more. HE can play golf whenever he wants at SC and as long as he wins 7-8 games/year, he is fine there. They are OK with being OK-good. Bama is not. I don't see him working that hard to make them a contender each and every year

JMHO, and when are you going to change your sig? 5 in a row:mj07:
