I'm no Tomlin supporter, far from it, but I'd like to make two very valid points concerning the above:
1. It matters not how much time is left on the clock when you get the winning score, it only matters that you get it.
2. I am certain there are plenty of fan bases that would love to have even one ring in those 12 years.
But it wasnt the winning score.
To old schools point, it probably could/should have been.
And Pittsburgh isn't most franchises....the measuring stick for that franchise isnt "most teams would be happy with our past succeses"
I think tomlin is terrible so I may just see the negatives....but I dont let 1 superbowl, with the majority of Cowhers roster, trump all the bonehead mistakes and the terrible clock management...
Give any decent coach the 7-8 perennial pro bowlers tomlin has to work with most years and i think they all have the winning record that tomlin supporters always remind people of....the difference in my opinion is good coaches would have the crucial wins and the playoff wins that tomlin seems to piss away year after year....and wouldnt have the terrible losses we've seen in the Tomlin era
I mean how can Ben be cleared to play as soon as he came out of tunnel, yet Tomlin says Dobbs stayed in because of the "flow" of the game....what flow? Dobbs looked terrible...
I just can't imagine at this point that any steeler fans have faith on Sundays anymore.
