In a match-up of two hot teams the Minnesota Timberwolves travel to LA tonight to take on the resurgent Lakers.
The Lakers are in seventh place in the Western Conference at 33-26 SU and 28-31 ATS. They have won seven of their last eight SU including six straight at home. They last played Wednesday when they can thank Big Shot Rob for another buzzer beater as they beat the Pacers 97-95.
The Timberwolves are fifth-placed in the Western Conference at 40-23 SU and 33-27-3 ATS. They are in the midst of a five-game road trip that has started with losses at Seattle and Sacramento....they had won seven straight before this trip started.
There is not much to be gleaned from these teams respective home and away records with LA 16-16 ATS at the Staples Center and Minnesota 15-16 ATS on the road.
LA will have revenge on it's mind tonight as these teams played twice in December and both times the Timberwolves got the win and cover...but the Lakers are playing much better ball right now.
It's unusual for the betting public to go against the Lakers so heavily but tonight 70%+ are on the T'wolves plus the points. The most recent time the Lakers were shunned by the public they went to Utah as 10 point dogs with Kobe hurting and Shaq out....and they won outright 93-87.
Leading MVP candidates Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett will both be looking to further their claims tonight but Kobe is the one who will have the Big Aristotle there to help him out.
We expect the Lakers to make another statement tonight and post a solid win and cover.
