This incident makes me ill. The perpetrator unnecessarily threw away her own life, caused immeasurable harm to her kids, and ruined this officer’s life by injecting herself into a lawful federal law-enforcement operation on a criminal level. the officer not only has to live with the fact that he took a life, but he has to do so while undergoing limitless future harassment after he’s fully exonerated.
Based on the sequence in the widely circulated videos, she was actively resisting arrest by fleeing. She moved her vehicle forward ( seemingly in effort to flee the scene) with officers at the door and in front of it, and she made physical contact with them both. This is a lethal threat per long established use of force standards. Someone who is familiar with that use of force standard is the shooter, who had previously been struck and dragged by another perpetrator’s vehicle in a similar situation resulting in severe injury only a few months ago
