Just wanted some thoughts on the line.......I saw that it opened up at 6.5 in some places and now down to 3.5 yet I see many people on Michigan? A lot of action on Minny so far....just seemed a little fishy. I like Michigan, but the line movement has me wondering...

Don't overthink this one -- this Minnesota defense is not a top cabliber squad, and I think they will have a lot of trouble stoping Michigan in the Big House.

what is it they will have a problem stopping? the number eleven run offense in the conference. I love Minnesota in this spot and the Q.B. comparision is no comparision, minnesota's q.b. is far better. Better offense with equal defense with revenge, minnesota plus the points is the play guys.

Minny may well be the play, but you might want to consider that UM has the best WR in the country and a good enough OL to run against a seven man Minny front. If they choose to walk up a safety and leave Braylon one on one, then he will torch them. Also, check out Chad Henne's stats in the two Big Ten games:

33/47 552 yds, 4 TD, 0 int, Efficiency of 197.0

He is not all world yet, but he's getting there a lot quicker than I thought he would.

If the play is Minny, then its because you think Minny can run the ball at will as they did last year in the Metrodome. Somehow, I don't see that happening.

Good points on both sides guys! The thing that still makes me concerned is the sudden action on Minny that made the line drop from 6.5 to 3.5 right away. Three points is a lot in my opinion...all of a sudden.

one other thing that just crossed my mind.

10/26/02, UM homecoming vs unheralded but talented #13 Iowa. UM opened as a larger favorite but the line ended at UM -3. Total was 52. Final score, Iowa 34 UM 9. :scared

Just to counter point -- that Iowa squad had a hell of a better defense than Minnesota does.

I can not stress enough how open the PSU wr's where getting, at least 2-3 steps of clearance last week, but Zach Mill's continued to throw the ball five yards out of bounds.

I agree, just pointing about the similarities between the two games spread, total and situation wise.

UM also had 5 starters out with injury in that Iowa game and lost two more during the first half. Matt Roth turned the backup LT into a revolving door all day long.

Minny is very succeptable to any team that can throw the ball. If Henne is given time, he will pick them apart.

Another couple things to consider, Carr is 32-5 at home in Big Ten play and UM hasn't lost a home game since that Iowa debacle.

I am all over the Under in this one....got it at 52.5

Michigan is looking forward to the challenge of stopping Minny's running attack. Michigan is ranked #1 in run D in the country.

That should help in neutralizing Minny's offense which has run the ball 73% of the snaps this season.

Michigan's offense is definitely not as prolific as in years past. Henne, the freshmen QB is very talented, but Carr has kept the reins on him. Furthermore, UM's running game is still not settled as freshmen Mike Hart has stepped up the past couple games, but junior David Underwood is back from injury. Either guy is not proven although Hart has shown something....in particular the past two games which he has started.

Just feel the # is way to high here and regardless of who wins, I think we see a game in the mid 40's at most.
