Here is an update on my friend Kyle Gibson. He made his debut yesterday for the Twins.

I think this kid is one of the main reasons the Twins are considering moving Liriano this season, that and needing to get something for him before he signs with the Yankees.

If any team is careful with their young pitchers, it's the Twins. They are protective with their young players, as that is the lifeblood of their team, or at least it was prior to the new stadium. That has given them a little leeway to go for some decent players on the market.

Just saw where the Twins sent Gibson back to AAA to get him "stretched out" for the season. Sounds like they were fine with his spring work, but they realistically have 6 decent starters for 5 spots with veterans, so he would not have an opportunity at this point. Would expect them to make a trade at some point during the season, or keep them all and prepare for injury, and still sounds like Kyle is a solid prospect for a callup to the rotation this season.
