Well the Vikings additions do not seem significant but some help is on the way. Hey they won't be world beaters but they are making some small improvements,

TE Visanthe Schianco will not be resigned and TE Jimmy Kleinsasser said "the Hell with this" and retired. Can't blame him.. Vikes signed John Carlson TE from Seattle, coming off injury and also paves the way for second year player Kyle Rudolph. They will have a good one, two punch at Tight End. Hope this helps Ponder out.

Offensive Line will see some major changes.. Hutchinson and Herrerra are gone. Sounds like the Vikes are going to move last year left tackle Charlie Johnson to left guard as he was dismal at tackle. Center will still have over rated and worthless Jon Sullivan and right tackle will be Phil Loadholt who is a overweight talented player in a contract year.

Vikes just signed tackle Geoff Schwartz who can play multiple line positions and I bet he is the starting left tackle. Everyone in the world has the Vikes taking tackle Matt Kalil with the 3rd pick overall and if that happens Schwartz will be the right guard. But I call bullshit on the team taking the tackle.

Vikes added some no-names at half back and at fullback. Last year the team did not carry a true fullback and I assume they decided to because their goal line offense and short yardage offense was pathetic. They need a lead blocker and the dumb asses realize that, thankfully.

Defensive back situation gets a shot in the arm when CB Chris Cooke was acquitted for beating the piss and almost killing his girlfriend. Girlfriend realizes that if he is in jail, there is no pay day and recanted most of the allegations. Mystery to me how she was almost choked to death but he is not responsible. At any rate he will be starting.. They also get back Antoine Winfield who missed more than half of last season, with age and injury, I wish they would move him to dime CB or to safety. I would not be shocked if the Vikes draft CB Morris Claiborne out of LSU. If you watched the games last year, they let Tebow shred them and were sickening to watch.

LB.. Vikes will let third year man from South Carolina, Jasper Brinkley play the middle. This guy is fast, just question his toughness and mental awareness to play the position.

WR - Vikes have done nothing to improve at this position.

QB - Sage is back and maybe this means Joe Webb will see some action at WR.

Draft Needs are glaring and this team needs O Line Help, Defensive Backs, Wide Receiver, and Linebacker depth.

Only areas they are set at are Defensive Line, TE, and QB.

Injury News.

As mentioned earlier Winfield should be ready, hope they move him to safety. AP just maybe ready by opening day but by the second month is a more reasonable goal and RB Toby Gehrhart should be ready to go. Man did he improve last year. Good to see after I ripped him.

I know there are about 10 Viking fans on the Site, so I will post my opinions and draft results in thsis thread, just wanted to talk football, going through withdrawals.

I don't think anyone will trade up to number three. That effing win against Washington last year really screwed us. We can't win right even. Lose that game and we are finally on the end of a nice trade.. Nope.

I think Ponder will have a decent year if protected decently

don't think winfield will ever play safety one of the surest tacklers in the league he's too short and has lost more than a step to be back there should be in the slot how he's led with his head all these yrs and can still get on the field is amazing hard to get behind this team with scumbag cook coming back ugh looks pretty bleak best wishes to the departed we'll see if hutch has anything left in the tank has battled injuries last few yrs more than anyone knew about i suspect hope ced gets back to 100% and proves to all the haters he can still get it done haven't heard if herrera has signed with anyone vikes will be bottomfeeders for some time

Vikes had to get rid of the body aching Hutchinson and that Salary. Cedric Griffin wore out his welcome and let's face it his legs are shot and he just can't do it anymore. Well some body gave him a decent contract.

I agree Winfield will not go to safety but I would like to see it, he tackles great and has a nose to be around the ball and play the "outfield" I don't think he can keep up with receivers..

Really think the Vikes are taking CB Claiborne from LSU. They need to keep up wiith all the big time receivers and QBs in the division.

Have to give Spielman props for not screwing up this draft and being aggressive to get back into the first round to ensure getting a safety. Everyone wants them to add a receiver today but I would continue to draft defense unless they can trade back into the second round and get the receiver from Georgia Tech which would probably take the rest of their picks to do so. With the additions of TE Carlson, WR Simpson (Cheech) OL Schwartz, CB Cook (Hope he gets hit by a bus.. literally) CB Winfield (Old Man) and the draft picks, things are looking up on the field. The team if healthy, I guess AP is going to be ready, should be much more competitive this year. Also we should get a better read on the prospects of Ponder, difficult to evaluate a quarterback who spend more time eating carpet (dirty mind?) then throwing the ball. Protection should be much better this year. Now let's hope they figure out this stadium deal.

Forgot to add that the Vikings picked up Jerome Simpson WR from Cincinnati. He can really stretch the field as he is a major deep threat. He does have off the field problems. Apparently he had a brick of the Goncha sent to his house and will be suspended for the first 3 games.

With him and Percy Harvin we now have the "Cheech and Chong" at WR position. In other words we have the "Sky High" tandem.

Have been really busy with end of school, prom, baseball stuff, so haven't been watching much of the draft but...

I think the Vikings draft is wonderful from what I can see. They are absolutely attacking their weaknesses and are adding players from big schools and seemingly making sure they have other players from those schools to come in together. I have no idea if some of these kids will pan out, but I certainly think the ideas behind their picks are sound. They definitely should be better after adding all these players to the mix.

I like what we've added, protection for Ponder and plenty of new secondary help..........Grabbing a Kicker with the 6th was a waste I thought....Kickers are a dime a dozen....

Overall............:0074

I don't mind them taking a kicker in the 6th round as long as he kicks touch backs. Guy has a leg on him from what I have been reading.

The TE/FB Rhett Ellison looks like a good pick, we will see, but he is very versatile, quick, has good hands, and can block:0074

Adrian Peterson - RB - Vikings
Percy Harvin revealed that Adrian Peterson (ACL, MCL, meniscus surgery) beat him twice in sprints up a steep hill on Wednesday.
"He's amazing," Harvin said of Peterson. "I told him the other day I don't think he's human. Two weeks ago he beat a couple guys in a race. When I got here yesterday, I told them guys they should be embarrassed." Harvin was the one embarrassed on Wednesday.
