According to Chris Fowler on ESPN's College GameDay, Michigan starting running back Brandon Minor is "doubtful" for this afternoon's season opener against Western Michigan.

Fowler did not expound on where he got his information from.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that Minor might have suffered an injury to his right ankle. The initial reports had Minor as questionable heading into the weekend.

If Minor is unable to go, Carlos Brown would replace the senior in the starting lineup.

The running back position is actually a spot where Michigan has a good deal of depth and they were going to put four or five guys back there today with or w/o Minor...it would help to have him though. True freshman Vincent Smith will probably follow Brown and Shaw today.
