MISSISSIPPI/MISSISSIPPI STATE Under 59.5 - The problem with a total this high in this type of contest is that one team figures to do most of the scoring. Mississippi State has been struggling on both sides of the ball, allowing over 47 points per game over their current 5-game losing streak while averaging just a shade over 11 points themselves. However, this game amounts to their season, and they may want to give the departing Jackie Sherrill a nice going away present. While the desire should be there, the talent unfortunately is not, so while the Bulldogs may do all they can to keep this game close, I do expect Ole Miss to pull away late. However, I do expect a low scoring first half, as the Bulldogs will most likely try and run the ball to kill some clock while their battered defense may play over their heads in Sherrill?s last game. That should be enough to keep this game below 50 points or so.
