Mississippi St/Tennessee

Is anyone else curious as to why Tenn is laying 8 points in this game? Both team's offenses are not very good although State's offense is much improved with Tyson Lee taking the snaps. This game is going to come down defense though. In SEC play, the Tenn defense is avg giving up 309 total yds, 131 rushing, and 178 passing. MSU is avg giving up 283 total yds, 124 rushing, and 159 passing. In the turnover margin, Tenn is -5, MSU is +6. This looks like a nice spot for State too. Tenn is coming off a disappointing loss to UGA(rival) and have Bama(rival) on deck. Not to mention Bama is #2 in the country. MSU has MTSU on deck so there is no possiblitiy of a look ahead here for the dawgs. So after looking up everything, why are the Vols laying 8 points? All input is appreciated. By the way I'll be in Knoxville this weekend!

Corley - Be careful on this one. You know I am not a homer, but something tells me the Vols win and cover this weekend. No reason they should be laying that many which is why I like them.

The Gators had no business laying a TD last week against LSU and we all know what happened there.

By the way, I will be doing my show from 11-1 at Calhouns on the River. Come on by for a beer. We also have a sweet tailgating spot near the stadium.:toast:

Skip that is exactly what scares me about this game... then again Vegas could put this line out to make ppl think about that LSU game last week... who knows :shrug: this game will be 2-0... :mj07: State is playing good right now so I'll take State and the points... I donno... I can see this as a sandwich game for the Vols. I think its gonna be a close game. State may not win but they will keep it close. The line was Tenn -7 last year and Tenn was ALOT better last year.

I'll probably be putting TEN in a small teaser....It would be Vols or no play if I had to choose. This line would DD's if Miss St lost last week. This line reflects that big win by them.
