I was sitting here watching an episode of 'cribs' on MTV and they had Missy Elliot's house featured. It was a great house, just like all the rest that they show on there. So she goes into her moms bedroom to show it (her mom lives with her, I guess) and busts out this huge ass bible. It was like War and Peace. Missy said that he mom HAD to have a bible and wouldn't even think about staying there if she didn't have a 'good one'.

Now, I get to thinking, my mom comes to stay with me for a few days every couple of months. What if before her next trip, she demanded a bible? Let alone a 'good one'? What would I do? Do they sell them at Target or Walmart? Where would you go for a bible, other than stealing one from the local Motel 6?

It occurred to me that i've never seen a bible for sale anywhere. So where do people purchase them? Thanks.

Thanks, but I clicked on your link, bibles.com, and I see that they say that they have a distribution problem and that it could take 3-4 weeks for somebody to get their bible. If one was in a huge rush, that could be a problem. I guess that even the most divine sites out there aren't immune to the regular problems.

Any retail outlets out there that offer the Good Book?

I would think you could just roll up into some church and they could hook you up. And if you wanted a really kick-ass one, they would probably know where to get it.

Thanks for all the help, guys. There are some good leads there. I think I might try bjfinste's idea first. Simply pretend that i'm going to be attending service next Sunday, pretend to be leafing through a Bible, and drift out the door. Anybody know which denomination has the coolest bibles?

I would be happy to send you one. Ask Jack for my e-mail and send me your address and I will send one right out to you no charge at all. If you are looking to buy one at a local bookstore, I would get a NIV (New International) version. If you get a King James version it can be very difficult to read and understand. But seriously I would be happy to send you one. Just let me know.

Kosar you should be able to buy a bible at any large bookstore.

However at the hotels they ussually are put their by groups of people who want you to take the bible. That is why they put them in the rooms, so take one, it is not stealing.
