Were there specific policy choices that were made during his tenure where money that should have gone to infrastructure (obviously a major undertaking) went elsewhere?
And many of the infrastructure problems were certainly inherited by him as well. The big dig certainly wasn't started under his watch was it? That was a pretty long time ago.
The BIG dig was full of over costs. Romney did not procesute as he should have. The Big shots at Bechtel and Continental all got off without jail time while pocketing millions.
I do not know of any specific policy that Romney pushed to ignore the crumbling infrastructure.
Here is the type of games he plays. He says he wants to shrink government. So he puts on a hiring freeze. But when the jobs opened up he hired temps (I was one) So it looks like he shrunk the payroll, which he did, but overall he spent more on getting temps. I was later hired. Some guys have such great deals they don't want to go on the State Payroll they would rather be temps or consultants as they call themselves.
To be fair he did push through some good programs. Probably no worse than any other politician but don't be fooled. He is a politician.
