Antonio much respect but how can you bet on the Marlins Tavarez is a horrible pitcher and the bullpen he has behind him is absolutely one of the worst. Duckworth has two starts against the Marlins winning both with a 2.50 ERA. Even if the Fish happen to get the lead they will blow it of that I have no doubt as this Phillies team is no where near as bad as the Expos and the Fish just happen to have the Expos coaching staff from last year and we know how bad they were up there. I am on the Phillies pretty big but wish you no bad luck my Paison just my opinion.

I've got Duckworth for a 3.46 ERA against Florida last year, 13IP allowing 5ER. On the flipside, Tavarez has a 3.23 ERA in four starts against Philly the past two seasons, 22.3IP allowing 8ER.

Taveras

Taveras

Wait a minute....I watched 8 to 10 of Taveras's starts last year. When his head is on straight and he's got his stuff, he very effective. Check the first 3 months of last year. He is not a horrible pitcher by any stretch of the imagination.

If you say so thats why he got put in the bullpen last year, anyway you are missing one very important point if Florida gets the lead do you want your money riding on the same bullpen that gave up a 6-1 lead and almost did the same exact thing the very next game againt a bad team like the Expos give me a break if you bet baseball you have to look at bullpens and the Marlins bullpen is just plain horrible. Duckworth has two starts against the Marlins winning both giving up 4 earned runs in the last at Florida and one earned run in the start in Philladelphia. If you look at Tavarez's numbers in the spring he had 14 strikeouts and 11 walks real impressive looks like the same guy that got put in the bullpen last year to me I will take the Phillies thank you very much.

The major reasons he went to the pen is because of injuries and the fact that he had significant bullpen experience. Also, the talent in the minors was starter talent as opposed to bullpen guys.....the bullpen callups were also running out of options.

I had no intention of defending Florida's bullpen....I don't know enough about that to comment. Only commenting on Taveras because I've seen him so often. didn't have action on game, couldn't tell how it even turned out....but good luck to all :)

Tavarez didn't even make it past the fourth inning he was hammered as predicted and anyone that doesn't consider bullpens when capping a baseball game is making a big mistake in my opinion!
