here's something interesting i just saw in the stats:

1) PICKING DETROIT (-115) over the white-sox.
This is very interesting. Since opening day, the w-sox have not won a GAME 1 on the road YET this season!! And this is Detroit's first game back from a looonngg road trip and i think they'll wanna impress the home fans.
(knowing Murphy's law, this trend'll probably end tonite...heh heh heh)

2) Taking Cinci (+110) vs ST.Loo
Here's another trend that i've been following: with A.Benes on the road, ST.Loo's record has been 0-4
at home they're 5-0, go figure.
Cinci is 0-4 with Reitsma at home this season. Always like to take the home team in game one of a new series.

continuing:

3) taking the ARIZONA/SD UNDER 8.5
I always loved B.Jones when he was pitching with the Mets, and he was always known as an entertaining home pitcher. ALthough SD is 0-4 with him on the mound at home, the under is 3-1 (with the lone over being against Colorado). I see a lopsided game for one team here, maybe a 4-1 score.

forgot to mention this being an interdivision game, and a battle for first place, hopefully this makes the under more of a factor.

4) PITTS/ATLANTA under 7.5 (-110)
poor, poor Todd Ritchie...if we bettors have looked at this guy very carefully, Pittsburgh is 0-9 with him on the mound this season.(yes, you would have made lots of coin betting against him, everytime out...!!!) I'll expect a low scoring affair at Turner Field due to Atlanta's punchless offense.

5) HOUSTON / LA under 7 (-115)
even though both pitchers are great strikeout pitchers, LA's got a good under record in the first game of a home series. Miller's O/U record on the road (using 7) is 3-1 yet he hasn't pitched against a west division team yet so he might be a bit cautious. Park pitches fairly well at home, and i think L.A will come out flat, like they usually do in the first of home games.
I'd like to see a 3-2 score here.

6) COLORADO/ SF over 8.5 (-115)
If SF can score 5 runs off the Big Unit, then they can atleast score 4 against Hampton, and the rockies can score atleast 5 off of Livan (el cornholio!!!)Apparently, Livan pitches well against major division rivals, so watch for this one to be a close game. I'd like to see a 5-4 score with Bonds hitting another homer or two against Colorado's bullpen.

and finally:

7 ) NY / CLEV under 10 ( -110)

this series is to see who really is going to be the power in the AL. Watch for a close, tight game as both teams don't want to give the other the psychological advantage.
El DUQUE o/u is 1-7 this year. Whomever wins this game will proably take tomorrow's game as well and will have the momentum (look at the stats). you heard it here first.
