Yesterday: 0-2 (-2.15 Units).....Very disapointing day yesterday, but still feel they were the right plays and would play them again if the same situation came up. As a lot of you may already know, a lot of times I look for key situations that may have a substantial bearing on the outcome of the game and try to take advantage of it, but that isn't gonna stop the fluke and unpredictable things. Sparks had his worst game of the season and the game still almost went under thanks to that "future star" Rodriguez kid who was only 2 outs away from a shutout in his 2nd major league start. Also Rueter pitched possibly his best game ever at Coors field and the Giants won only scoring 4 runs in the game. Can't stress the importance of money management enough just for stuff like what happened yesterday....just gotta forget these type losses and move on.

That being said, there may only be 3 days left of baseball this season....so time may be running out to make some $$ from baseball.

SEASON: 244-201 (+31.7 UNITS)
Sides: 170-150 (+9.15 Units)
Totals: 74-51 (+22.55 Units)

OVER 9.5 MINNESOTA +100:

"The Valdes and Mays Turf Dome Totals Play"

Just put the Over in on this one even without the Ump info. If you have the luxury of waiting to see who the Ump will be in this one (which I won?t today) the play could possibly be even more solid. Let?s get to the Core of my reasoning on this one:

The Turf plays a huge role in this total for a couple reasons, but the main one being the style of both pitchers and I expect to see plenty of runs in this one:

Almost always a starting pitcher will have a lower ERA at home than the road, but this is not the case for Mays who usually possesses a dominating sinker and thus when playing on Turf the ball tends to shoot through the infield and into the gaps much quicker than a grass stadium. May?s career ERA is close to a full run higher in Domed Stadiums and when playing on Turf instead of grass!

Mays also has a history of struggling vs Seattle. He?s made 5 career starts vs Seattle and is 0-5 with a 6.68 ERA

Mays has had elbow problems in the past and was on the DL earlier this season from the problems. Since he came back off the DL in late July, the velocity and location of his sinking fastball has been off. That may be one reason his hits per nine innings are way up and his strikeouts are down from last season. Check out the horrific numbers that Mays is allowing this season:

Mays is allowing a .296 overall average to batters this season (much higher than his career .267 average that he allows)

Mays with runners on?..allowing a .330 average to batters
Mays with runners in scoring position?..allowing a .432 average
Mays with runners in scoring pos and 2 out?..allowing a .450 average

Mays also left last Wednesday?s game because of a bruised right thumb after being hit by a batted ball in the 2nd inning. He did stay in the game, but gave up 6 runs in 2 innings and you never know, but it could also be a factor even if it?s bothering him just a little.

Ismael Valdes is getting his 2nd start for Seattle today and he is much like Mays on the turf and in domes. Plus like Mays has horrific numbers vs his opponent today:

Valdes vs Minnesota is 0-3 in 4 career starts with a 5.79 ERA

Valdes in his career has a record of just 2-11 in Domes with a 5.30 ERA (1.71 Runs higher than in Outdoor Stadiums). Valdes on Turf is no different??.On turf he has a career mark of 9-18 with a 5.01 ERA (1.51 Runs higher than games played on grass)

Valdes also like most pitchers struggles more on the road. His career ERA on the road is 1.37 runs higher than his career ERA when pitching in front of the home crowd.

Minnesota is also averaging 5.4 Runs per game vs righties at Home
Seattle is averaging 5.6 Runs per game vs righties on the Road

Bottom line, I think the game has a good chance to go well over this total today. Both pitchers in their careers have struggled and are winless vs their opponents today, both struggle on Turf and in Domes and one for sure may not be 100% that being Mays. Plus we have a couple of good offensive teams who over the last 10 games have both been hitting righties well. If we can draw a favorable Ump, the game should be even more ?GOLDEN.?

Good Luck :thumb:
