MNF Play

SF -2.5 First Half

Going with the same play as last nite's NEW ENGLAND game. Teams coming off a bye week have been solid all year in the first half, and I don't see why it doesn't continue here with SAN FRAN. SF is gonna be up huge for this game and looking to get back into the playoff race. I know all about COWHER's record on MNF and all, so I'm not going against that, maybe he can make some HT adjustments, but the FH I see is SAN FRAN all the way. Would not be surprised to see 49ers up by double digits early in this one.

STL has a pretty good defense themselves, and RATTAY and CO tore them up. I watched that whole game and the kid never got rattled that I could see. HE was very poised. Granted, we're now on MNF, the whole world watching all all, but the NINERS got too many weapons to go to down the field for PITT to keep track of. Once TO, STREETS, etc burn them deep a time or two, the line is gonna be on their heels, and the RB COMBO for SF will then begin to churn out the yards.

MADDUX in my mind was a one year wonder.... he's worse than KORDELL if that's possible. PITT will only go as far as MADDUX can take them, and that is NOT to the playoffs... as mentioned elsewhere, COWHER got his great MNF with some very good teams, which this one is not....

Still contemplating playing the UNDER in this one also. We'll see!

Good luck!

WINNAH! :D

Don't know why more people don't look into playing quality teams coming off a bye week in the FIRST HALF. May have to run some numbers on it, but I would be willing to bet, (pardon the pun, BUT I have BET the LAST TWO!) that it's a very solid %. The reasons are fairly obvious. IF you have a team with two weeks to prepare, playing a lesser team with only one week, chances are the better team with more preparation is going to be very solid in the first half at least, as they are able to run their entire play script, and the DEFENSE finally gets to hit someone again.

This past week there were three I can think of right off...

DENVER 27-0 at the half
PATRIOTS up 9-0 at the half
SAN FRAN up 10-0 at the half.... and that was just this week.
and yes,

THE SAINTS who went down 20-3 only to come back and win.

But that's 3-1 or 75%. I'll take that most weeks... ;)
