Game is at Oakland. This game makes me very nervous. Oakland thus far has looked great/terrible/great while the Jets have gone from putrid to playoff contender in the "who the hell knows" AFC East. Then you've also got the revenge factor from last year's playoffs. Both teams really need the win to keep pace in their divisions. I like Oakland, but 6 points seems pretty steep if the Jets haven't been pretenders the last couple weeks.
I also like the Raiders, but 6 points does seem like alot, might look to the total, leaning towards the over, but need to look at it a little closer.
Oakland has Won SU & ATS 3 in a row, blowing out Arizona last week, and handling New England 2 weeks ago, both games with revenge factors involved. 3 wks ago, in Denver on Monday they were grabbing 6 pts. from the Broncos, and won outright, 34-10. Another positive trend is a 3-0 SU/ATS record in nationally televised games. The offense especially comes to play when in the spotlight. Oakland lost the last game of the season last year to the Jets SU, which cost them home field. Although making it up in the playoffs 38-24 (-6, ironically), the Raiders still have a score to settle.
The Flyboys have one upped them, winning the game and at the window the last 4 in a row. They are 1-1 as a dog of 6+. The last two wins have come at the hands of the hapless Lions, and Buffalo Bills. Time for the Men in Green to play with the big boys this week. They have beaten only 2 opponents with records over .500.
Both teams need this game. Oakland is the better team, the Jets are playing over their heads, and both teams have become favorites of the betting public as of late. 6pts seem like a lot to lay, especially with so much at stake. The Jets are no bargain tonight. Oakland -6 gets the call.
