Not a boast because anyone that knows me knows i never say much about a win because 1 good month or bad should never make or break you if you are in this to win money and not just for action. So 1 game is even less of a factor but what were the bookmakers thinking by giving eagles 3 points it has been miami's mo for along time I use to live there so i have seen it fast start and either choke in dec or have to fight their ass off to make the playoffs only to fall apart in game 1. can anybody tell me what they thought the reason was because i have talked to a few people who know much more then me and they had the same questions, i know their are a few books on here from the states if you make your line or even adjust what was your thought or for that matter anyone. It was a stupid line if you look at the past which i am not big on till it shows a patteren and miami has for a long time and eagles are the better team who are still not getting any respect, they had a shaky start well my money is the go to the super bowl and are one of the most under respected teams out there and far from a fan i am a fan of who wins for me ,I even bet against wvu before and have posted it right here so i am a fan of no team when it comes to money it is all business and i thought this was a bad line it should of been even at best for miami books had to take a hit, i think so, out here i know so on side but still don't understand the line philly had something to play for also home field is major for them in a game. I am just lost and asking if anyone knows or can explain it to me and this is not a joke , did i miss something or did the book miss?

didnt play anyone, but i did lean to miami.

since im basically an 80-90% dog player, i figured id just pass the game and watch.

however -- i didnt see anything "off" with the line. its what i expected it to be and had i played the game, really wouldnt have had a problem laying the 3.

to say the game should have been "pick em" is a little much, given what was at stake for miami.

i think many were unsure whether to buy into philly as a legit contender again. if you think about it, they got buried by two good teams on their schedule right out of the gate. their recent win streak was vs mediocre teams.

so just going into this game (not knowing the outcome), there were still some lingering question marks on philly. they havent been all that great on the road this year (during their streak, they needed a punt return with 1:00 to go to beat the giants in a game new york gave away, and then needed a mcnabb last second rally to beat green bay on the road)

they proved today theyre back to being a legit contender (although their defense wasnt all that impressive)

all in all, philly IS finding ways to win games right now and theyre playing well.

but in terms of the line, i saw nothing wrong with (-3). in fact, i thought it was very sharp.

I will take a whack at it.

Vegas Linemaker #1 - So who will the public money be on ?

Vegas Linemaker#2 - Money will come in hard on Miami. The public thinks they really need this game more and at home they will win.

Vegas Linemaker #1 - Yeh the public is so stupid.

Vegas Linemaker #1 - So how many points should we set the line with and give Miami ?

Vegas Linemaker #2 Hey I got a idea... The line should be
Philly Eagles -4, but if we do that we won't get any
Miami money. Lets give Philly the + points.

Vegas Linemaker #1 OK lets just put it at Philly +3 . That should
be enough to make even fletcher scratch his nuts.

The line is set not where Vegas always thinks it will end up but where Vegas thinks most Players expect it to be.It is set with the intent of inducing equal action on both sides so they don't have to gamble with their money. There are times that if they set the line in what they know to be the right place it will tip off the outcome.Sometimes that happens anyway, but they put it where most would expect it to be based on LAST WEEK's(reads recent memory) results of both teams.

This edludes is clueless. He still thinks Vegas is trying to split equal action when that is so far from the truth.

Gman's dead-on, but Scott has a point

IMO, the line was where it should have been. I watch the Eagles every weekend. I'm a diehard, but I'm not blinded by love. :SIB
They've played well during this winning streak, but they haven't been overly impressive.

With Miami's back to the wall, playing at home, Vegas knew the public would forget about December years past and put the $ on Miami. I personally didn't play the game, but I would assume 65 - 70% did, and Vegas wins again.......
