Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Stars' official site has press release.

Leading scorer Mike Modano is flying to FL to be with his mother for her cardiac proceedure. Will definitely not play tonight against FL

Too bad, Modano has 9 goals and 4 assists in 13 career matches vs FL. Two of the three goals last week against FL were his.

so turgeon most likely moves back to center tonight on one of the scoring lines. dont know if he stays with rucinsky and someone like sim is thrown on it or if hitchcock breaks up the nieuwendyk line and puts one of them with turgeon. will be interesting--

nothing more than that miami herald story or whatever paper it is in...they play atlanta tomorrow night and while one might be inclined to think that kidd would start against them, i'll play devil's advocate and say that perhaps keenan saves luongo to make sure they finally pick up a f'n 'W" against the thrash(which isnt of course a given but...) no clue though...but two defensive styles at play tonight, dallas has really reverted back to their (yawn!) old ways..i am still inclined to give the panthers a shot at +270

another thought is keenan showcasing kidd against dallas as i thought he was expected to get dealt. why would you showcase him against atlanta??

dallas morning news.......

Barring complications, Modano is expected to return for Sunday's game in Chicago, coach Ken Hitchcock said.

Without Modano, Hitchcock will shuffle his lines. Pierre Turgeon moves to center between Martin Rucinsky and Jere Lehtinen. The second line will feature Joe Nieuwendyk centering Pat Verbeek and Brenden Morrow.

thanks T-Ray, glad to hear, they need him badly...although kidd made some great saves tonight he gave up some montrous rebounds. that late goal by dallas with under 2 minutes killed my side total parlay but i still was able to finally hit a big f'n dog(unfortunately my beloved stars are vanquished as a result)

c you all tomorrow,
