Police: Mom Locks Girl In Trunk During Prison Visit

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania woman is accused of locking her daughter in a car trunk while she visited her husband in prison.

The woman was arrested this weekend at a state prison about 95 miles east of Pittsburgh. State police say prison guards heard crying and yelling coming from the vehicle -- and found the 3-year-old girl in the trunk.

Police say the woman apparently locked her in after prison officials wouldn't let the girl enter because she wasn't on a visitors list. Police say the girl was in the trunk for about 40 minutes, but wasn't hurt.

The mother is facing charges of endangerment and attempted aggravated assault. The girl's been turned over to child welfare officials.

I have a very good friend that works for DCS here in Tennessee...and man, I have heard some real tragic stories. I couldn't imagine having his job and dealing with that chit every day. I think I'd lose my mind along with my temper.... Very sad for the children of these smucks....

Heck, last night a 10-year old shot his 14 year old sister to death by shotgun here in West K-ville. Horsing around with a damn shotgun! I'm damn near bawling when they were reporting on it.

Any harm to kids really messes me up.

I remember when Columbine happened I couldn't pull myself away from the set. I think I let my son sleep in my bed for two weeks after that. Something about bad stuff happening to kids touches a nerve with me, as I am sure it does with alot of people.

I think anyone who hurts a kid should be dealt with by the mother and father and the rest of the family of that childs. No questions ask.
