Cleveland State Vikings -3 (5) BG less than impressive in their opener vs powerhouse Lake Erie College. I usually don't like to place too much importance in these apparent mismatch games but I really see the Vikings as being the better team here.

i backed the Rockets in their very ugly opening loss at Loy Chic. they appeared to be less than focused and got killed on the glass. Bottom line is that i think that they are better than what they showd in Chicago. I'll take a small bite of the big number and hope they play better or even catch the back door.

Did you watch the Toledo/Loyola game on Friday? That was definitely ugly and they were quite lethargic. GL today, I?m likely going to be on Cleve as well.

Caught about half of it in bits and pieces. I saw enough to know that I was getting my ass kicked. The Rockets looked tight and tenitive and when things were not going their way they looked down right frustrated out there. I have my doubts that Loyola is as good as they looked but we shall see. One thing for sure though is that Loyola came ready to play. I'll be watching both tams closely in their next few games. You can't beat the Horizon league network to follow everybody in the conference.

agree about the HLN. I often hook up the computer to the tv w/ an HDMI cable to watch on the big screen.

Johnnies are so young and the Titans bring back a lot of experience and talent as you know. McCallum will be the best player on the floor and solid guard play is a nice steadying influence when playing on the road.I think his dad does a pretty solid job as well. I love Minnerath's game, tough and hardnosed inside with a good touch outside Remember he was injured in the early stages of last season so his return will really help as well. Gone are Holman (who was called a cancer by some) and Simon but they have plenty back. The big question for me is how they will do on the glass. They have size but they are inexperienced in the paint.

I have to like the points. I'd love to get 6 but doubt we'll se that.

I'm going to attend the Temple / Kent St game tomorrow so won't be around for most of the Detroit game. If kent St can manage to beat them I'll have to take another look at them to possibly be contenders in the East once again although on paper OU and the Zips appear to be much better. Akron won't be at full strength until their 2nd game in San Jaun.

I thought the Pengs looked really good tonight. Their defense gave Ga. fits.... I'd love to take the big points with NIU, especially with the early start but just an't do it. Valpo should be very solid this year and young Drew does a great job.
