Sun 0-1 (-1.0 unit with a push on the total in Zona)

Sorry Fellas, but I'm really frustrated, and please allow me ramble on here for a few minutes.......This is getting pretty disheartening. At one point in early June, I had the units up to about the 25 mark. It has since plummeted to just over 7. So, I have been thinking about how to proceed with this situation. We all know it........LOSING SUCKS. (My buddy once told me, "You show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser") Anyway, I'm sick of this sheeite, and something needs to change.......So, I came to the conclusion that most of my success came earlier in the year because I was spending a lot more time capping the games, and I was probably more keen at the beginning of the season. Well, the "dog days" are setting in......work has been stupid busy lately, I've been on the golf course a lot more lately than in the spring, and it just seems like there is always something else to be done. So, out of all this rambling I've done, I have promised myself that if I don't feel as though I have done all my research, and "covered all my bases" so to speak, I that I just won't make a play. Simple as that. Streaks are part of what we do, but lately I feel as though I haven't been giving myself a chance to win. Okay I'm done......... :violin:

Down to business for Monday.......

TEXAS RANGERS (+114) This is blatant plagerism from a write-up of Doc's last week, but it is so damn muggy here right now, I gotta do it......"On a warm summer's eve"...............I am hoping to meet up with Kenny Rogers and get this derailment back on track.......This guy is 11-2 on the year with a 3.42 ERA. He takes to the hill against CC, who is 5-0 in his career against the Rangers. However, there are some things here that I like: Sabathia missed his last start with shoulder trouble, and most likely will be on a pitch count in this game. Also, he got roughed up pretty good at the Jake about a month ago against this Texas team (5 ER, 6 hits in 6 IP). Also, the Indians are only 8-7 in games started by CC, while the Rangers are 12-5 in games started by Rogers, who also sports a 5-1 record with 3.70 ERA on the road in 2004. Also, I just like the grittiness of this Texas team. They still believe that they're this good.

NEW YORK METS (-106) The Mets are coming off a huge sweep of the Yankees, and admittedly could be in a spot for a let-down. On the other hand, they could be on the verge of a nice little roll heading for the All Star break? Tom Glavine was bumped back a day so that he could start this series agains the division rival Phillies, whom he is 24-11 with a 3.52 ERA against lifetime. On the other hand, the Phillies have spent their last two series' beating up on the Expos and nose-diving Orioles......I also like seeing Paul Abbott going for Philly. He sucks. ;) This guy was a reject in Tampa Bay, and will likely suffer the same fate when Philly's regulars get sound again. He did not pitch well in his only start in this park, and he is showing an ERA of 6.75 in his last 14 IP.

Well, this Canadian is back to work Monday. I hope my southern friends are having a great long weekend. :toast:

Good Luck,

Good luck Sharky --- I know what you are saying but my best advice is that this is a marathon, and treat it as such. This season has been a roller coaster for me, as I'd gone from up eight units to down two units, then back up to plus ten, then minus three ago. I'm on a bit of an upswing now and hopefully I can keep buidling on it.

I think the best way to go about this sport is exactly what you are doing --- limiting your plays and picking your spots. A game or two a night, makiing plays you are very confident in. We all go through bad streaks, but if you are a good capper, which I think you've shown that you are, you'll end up picking more winners than not.

Ever think of changing up when you book your plays? I used to just play overnights but lately have been establishing my heavy leans overnight then watching the line movement a bit before I make that final decision. Gives me a little extra time to weigh the positives and negatives of each play.

Not trying to come across like I know it all, because trust me I don't by any stretch of the imagination, but thought I'd weigh in because have felt exactly how you do a few times already this season.

As for your plays/write ups they are top notch. I love guys that give some indication as to why they are playing a certain game, gives me a little more to think about. Perfect example is Texas for tommorrow: I totally forgot that CC had left his last start with that shoulder problem, and you are dead on about the pitch count. Tidbits like that is why I post around here and spend so much time on the board. Best of luck with both plays tommorrow, I'll be pullling for you (and might be with you on them both) ;)

Good Luck on your plays.

METS opportunity is now kicking the door in. They swept The Phillies 3 games in Philly in the beginning of June. They are now spunkier then ever and will be on cloud nine after sweeping The Yankees. Richard Hildalgo has been LITES OUT since The Mets got him. He has like 9 Home Runs already.

PHILLY got hard used against Baltimore with that 16 inning game Friday.

AND ALL I CAN SAY IS GO TEXAS...like both your plays

Hang in there Sharky. I went 0 for 5 yesterday . Never ever do that. Why I stick my nose in this interleague, I don't know. I was up before this crap and am up only a couple of units myself now. I am cutting my plays down and going from here. Good luck my man.

i can relate also, sharky........ :cursin: starting Saturday i played Florida.......5 hits, 8 walks, and 12 men left on base with 1 run to show for it. (loser) played Boston yesterday, 4-1 lead bottom of the 5th when Derek Lowe and co. give-up 9 runs in the inning!!!!!!! (loser) had Oakland late afternoon and that turned out well, but hopefully it will turn around. up to this point in the season i haven't been doing to bad. hang in there and we will try to turn it around..............   best of luck on your plays today.........

Good luck Sharky ... as a Phillies fan, I can tell you that yuor play on the Mets is a no-brainer. Let's see ... we got a reject bum named Paul Abbott facing a future Hall of Famer having an All-Star year at a bargain price. Plus. although the Phillies are the superior team, the Mets are playing some decent ball. I am playing the Mets for 5 units which is pretty much the highest I play. $550 to win $500 on the Mets.

I know where you are coming from Sharkey. Early on this baseball season I had some success then like you, it all seemed to fall apart on me. I started tracking my losses and I found that a large amount were RL losses. Hopefully I found a system to counteract that and it has beem going well for me so far. Hang in there ...you'll turn it around...

GL to you !

Thanks B.....It's nice when things go according to plan. This Texas team is a money maker right now. ;) Your Mets didn't do us any favours, but I'd pull the trigger on that one again given the stats. Glavine just didn't have his best stuff tonight, and that happens......Dodgers need 3 more outs and you're night will be okay.
