1) Appalachian State ML-130 ( 2 units)

can't go against the number one team in the conference who's playin.... North Carolina Greensboro.....??
seems like a mismatch on paper....i'll take the chance on the moneyline....

from a website:

The Appalachian State Mountaineers attempt to keep pace atop the North Division standings of the Southern Conference as they battle the UNC- Greensboro Spartans. Appalachian State had a comfortable hold on first place a few weeks ago, but it has alternated wins and losses in its last six games to fall to 10-4 in the league. The squad had a chance to put some space between it and Davidson on Saturday, but a 94-81 loss to the Wildcats has the two teams tied for top spot. While the Mountaineers have allowed no more than 72 points in their last four wins, they have yielded at least 88 points in their four most recent defeats. This season has been one long nightmare for UNC- Greensboro, which is 7-19 overall and 3-11 against SoCon opponents. The Spartans have lost five of their last six games, including a heart-breaking 61-60 setback against VMI on Saturday. On a positive note, six of their seven wins this season have come at home. Appalachian State extended its series lead over UNC-Greensboro to 10-7 earlier this season with a 91-60 romp over the Spartans.

A quick look at the shooting stats from Saturday's game explains why Appalachian State was unable to knock off Davidson. While the Mountaineers connected on only 35.7 percent of their field goal attempts, including an 8- of-30 effort from three-point range, they allowed the Wildcats to shoot 57.9 percent from the floor, including 13-of-24 from behind the arc. ASU managed only 12 assists in the contest and was outrebounded by a 40-34 margin, two more factors that contributed to the defeat. Shawn Hall poured in 30 points in the loss, but he took 30 shots from the field to reach that mark. Graham Bunn pitched in 19 points for the Mountaineers, and Johnathan Mitchell rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points. Hall averages 21 ppg this season, but his 37 percent shooting from the floor is shaky to say the least. Bunn adds 12.9 ppg on 49.5 percent shooting, and he has racked up 124 assists against 71 turnovers. Chris McFarland (11 ppg) and Josh Shehan (10.6 ppg, 7.7 rpg) round out the unit's double-digit scorers.

UNC-Greensboro had an outstanding opportunity to win its game on Saturday, as VMI missed three consecutive one-and-ones in the closing minute. The Spartans, who shot a subpar 40.7 percent from the floor in the contest, were unable to take advantage of its late opportunities. A 34-23 rebounding disadvantage proved to be a major factor in the loss, as was a 5-of-17 effort from three- point range. Jay Joseph paced the squad in defeat with 17 points, while Josh Gross was effective as well with 16 points. James Maye, who finished with only four points and four rebounds in 36 minutes of action, leads UNC-Greensboro this season in both scoring (16 ppg) and rebounding (6.2 rpg). Joseph is a consistent scorer as well as he is netting 14.3 ppg.

Appalachian State is clearly superior to UNC-Greensboro in all aspects, and although the Mountaineers have been inconsistent lately, they will likely play with a sense of urgency tonight and pick up a win.

Predicted Outcome: Appalachian State 89, UNC-Greensboro 71

well, a close win is a win...good game nonetheless....

didn't wanna put too much down on this game...because of the revenge factor for the Spartans...but they say good teams overcome this...and the Mountaineers did that.....
