I wonder if it's pouring rain there today too? I remember, a long while back, that me and the Mrs. (Joanie Bird) was in Vegas and I thought I'd give the beautiful Hilton's (not the one on the strip) Sports Book a try. I saw that Mountaineer was running and I decided to drop a few bucks down. It was pouring like hell in W. Virginia (is that where Mountaineer is??) and I looked for a mudder, found one and wheeled the bastage (one stinkin dollar, of course) top and bottom in zactas. Didn't even notice that he was going off at something around a hundred to one.
Hit one of the biggest zactas I ever hit. Bellagio wasn't even a dream back then, so we headed for the finest Italian restaurant in Vegas and a show right after that race.
I would take a shot with Mountaineer again, but THESE DAYS I'm a different kind of player. It would be like an English professor with a major in Shakespearean literature spending his time writing a book about advanced mathematics. (actually closer to the other way around.. Shake who?).
