whoops! almost forgot about da afternoon games today. will get to evening games later...
<b>Edmonton</b>--Salo, I expect. Markkanen got last start.
<b>Boston</b>---Grahame, I expect. Shields got last start. Boston won last two meetings, Edmn won the two before that...over went 3-1..... But Edmn last win at Boston was 11/96, and is 0-1-1-1 there since (OT loss was last visit)
Samsonov out and probably York too. Article here sez Anson Carter, Oilers point leader, is fired up for this game..................http://www.faceoff.com/nhl/teams/oilers/news/story.html?f=/news/20021111/314669.html
<b>Calgary</b>--the Herald sez "Coach Gilbert mentioned that McLennan would "probably" start this afternoon."
But coach had shooting practice other day, to help struggling offence, and McLennan got a few minor injuries from all the shots. So wouldn't be surprised to see Szuper here, who was reportedly excellent at the practice.
Jamie McLennan -- 2-3-1, 2.47 GAA, .917 save percentage
Calgary offensive numbers remarkably steady this season so far--2.53 overall, 2.25 away, and 2.20 last five.
<b>Atlanta</b>----paper sez "Pasi Nurminen will likely get his fifth straight start in goal today against the Flames, but goaltending remains a big question. The answer could be free agent Byron Dafoe. "
Pasi Nurminen, 2-2-1, 3.75 GAA, .870 this season
ATL is 0-3-0-1 at home this season (scoring only 9 goals), but playing well of late and have always defeated Calgary when they visit.
one note for later
NY Daily News had this bit today:
Mike Richter, who sat out the last two games as a precaution after getting hit in the head by the knee of Edmonton's Todd Marchant last week, is expected to start in goal.
