4-8 saturday.... I now have blown 3/4 of my starting hoops bankroll and will not re-up. New Avatar = Slump buster

Key injuries on all three game so check status before playing. The opinions here may be upgraded to plays as news comes in closer to tip time..... If anything becomes more concrete I'll try to post it.

Oakland +1'

Played a killer non conf schedule and it appears that the dividends are now being paid..... CSU's Mason is a key injury so do check his status.... Tough gym for visiting teams.

Detroit -5

Wright's Yoho will not play and that is huge but S Davis may be back after missing a month. Hate playing Det as a fav but Wright has been playing poorly as their lack of quality depth has caught up with them.

Milw +13'

Panthers not eligible for post season play in the Horizon tourney so at this point every game is big. Hopefully Lyle plays and Carter is again absent for Valpo. His status is very doubtful.... This number seems to be inflated so we shall see

Total plays, all one unit

CSU / Oak under 135'

The Vikes are a very good defensive team.

Wright / Det under 133

Wright is offensively challenged w/o Yoho

You know what I figured out? I hate the Horizon and Mac Leagues.. they are inconsistent and the level of play is not as high this year as in years past?

Horizon League:
Home win% (20 of 29) 69.0% 5
Close game% (<4 pts or OT) (5 of 29) 17.2% 29
Blowout % (>19 pts) (6 of 29) 20.7% 4

MAC:
Home win% (23 of 36) 63.9% 11
Close game% (<4 pts or OT) (10 of 36) 27.8% 6
Blowout % (>19 pts) (2 of 36) 5.6% 29

You see the 27% close games in the MAC... that is on par with other leagues BUT it will stay that way the whole season where as the other leagues will regress to about 20%.
Stats courtesy of Ken Pomeroy.

Agree Mus...

Especially the MAC. All of the perennial league bottom feeders have all made some progress while most of the top programs have stagnated to some degree. That becomes quite evident when looking at the close game and blowout %. Toss in some key injuries and its tough to pick a winner straight up let alone ATS.

What has worked for me in the past is clearly not cutting it this season. I do know that it would sure help to have a side I'm backing hit at 60% from the FT line. Thats not too much to ask but far too often this has not happened.

Played these a couple of hours ago.

Wright St / Detroit under 61' FH
Cleve St / Oak under 64' FH

Its funny

Its funny

Before the season started Ken Pomeroy and I were discussing the scoring and CBB. He was saying that this year will most likely be the lowest scoring year since the shot clock. I told him that we should move to the 30 second shot clock but more it is BECAUSE KIDS CANNOT MAKE FT's!!! The FT rate this year is .2% lower than ever and you can see it.

So, I guess I feel ya!

Risky play because the Vikes' Lewis is playing out of his mind and Coach Gary Waters is very adept at pulling out close games. Mason is expected back for CSU tonight. I must be crazy.

Valpo over 127'

Laying off of the Det and Milw sides.
