2 units.....east tennessee state (+3) (pinnacle) over clemson
simply put -- the mid-major is the better team here. home court the equalizer for clemson, but tigers have never held a significant home court edge. very unlikely that a veteran etsu team finds clemson to be an intimidating environment. clemson sitting at 3-3 and coming off a tough loss to georgia two days ago. east tennessee, meanwhile, is nice and rested for this game. bucs have been idle for 9 days now. bucs lone loss was to texas tech on the road -- a game etsu led at halftime. bucs have held their own on the glass this year and texas tech held just a 36/35 edge in rebounding. etsu returns all five starters from a team that gave wake forest a lot of trouble in the ncaa tournament last year. bucs also hold a distinct advantage at the line. etsu has connected on 117/164 free throws (71%) whereas clemson has shot 88/150 (59%) from the line (sharrod ford, arguably clemsons best player shooting just 12/30 from the line this year). neither team holds an advantage shooting the 3-ball (both mediocre). etsu star wadood coming off a dominant game (30pts/12reb). clemson in a power-conference sandwich spot. theyre coming off a tough loss to georgia 2 days ago and have #17 cincinnati on deck. really like the balance on this veteran etsu team. they should win straight up here.
