last week had a good run during the week and then gave back most of the winnings on the weekend. let's see if we can start off on the right track tonight:
asu -5-: i had some success with the sun devils a week ago and, despite being 5-0, they still appear to hold some value because of their soft early schedule. as hard as it is to believe, asu seems to be a better, more well-rounded team despite the loss of nba first round pick ike diogu, and early predictions of their demise this year might have been premature. on the other hand, gophers are playing their fifth game in nine days and are extemely shorthanded, especially at guard. things have been so bad that nc state transfer adam boone has played the entire forty minutes in three of the last four games. terp guards ate their asses up in minny's only other road trip at md. leading scorer vince grier is out for a few more weeks with a broken finger. rico jackson has returned from academic and health issues but doesn't appear to be up to speed yet. mo hargraove made the trip, and since i see a little downward pressure on the line this afternoon, i'll speculate that he's participating in workouts. but he's recovering from a high ankle sprain, and experience tells me there's no way he'll be at full speed tonight, especially on defense. all things considered, i'll take another crack on the sun devils to start up the week.
