Tampa Bay needs just one point to clinch its first trip to the postseason since 1995-96. The Lightning had 88 points in 1996 and were seeded eighth when they lost in six games to Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin made 21 saves against his former team and has not lost since a 6-2 setback to the New York Islanders February 11. He is 10-0-2 in his last 12 outings and the Lightning are 13-2-5 since that defeat.

The Lightning are winless in their last four trips (0-3-1) to San Jose since December 7, 1996.

Martin Brodeur needed to make just 10 saves to improve his career mark against the Panthers to 20-6-7. The Devils are 14-3-2 in their last 19 games with Florida.

The Panthers are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, dropping their league-worst home mark to 7-20-7-5. They have not won at the Office Depot Center since January 25. Florida is 0-9-2-1 in its last dozen at home.
