19-11-3 ...on posted plays...

sanfran/seattle tonight...

seattle is coming off a big win against minny at home...but lets be honest minny's defense hasnt done much of anything this year....seattle's lone win against minny had the vikings tunover the ball 4 times.. in thier losses thier opponents turnovers were minimal...this may be stating the obvious ..but this niner team does not turn the ball over much...and this has some correlation to the fact that they run the ball with a very good combination of barlow and hearst....now take a look at seattles run defense ...it isnt good ....if the niners can run effectively (which the should) seattle may be in trouble tonight....this would swing the time of possession the niners way and also minimize turnovers on the niners behalf...in turn it may also run a lot of time off the clock...

niners have run for:
1.) 113 yards vs giants
2.) 71 yrds vs denver
3.) 252 vs. wash
4.) 179 vs. rams

seattle has given up...
1.) 221 yrds. vs. oakland
2.) 249 vz. zona
3.) 94 vs. giants
4.) 192 vs. minny

seattle is well rested for this game...which may give them some advantage...however if trends are part of your capping strategy i believe seattle is 1-5 ats at home after a bye-week since 1992 ....

all thoughts are welcome...be back after looking at this game some more...cooz

the seahawks defense is dead last in the NFC and is allowing 5.3 yards per carry...

the niners are 13-1 when hearst runs for 100 yards or more

getting randle back tonight should help the seahawks stop the run a little better you would think...

agree guys...

plays

1.) niners minus 3..small play
2.) under 43

with stokes out...look for seattle to take out owens with double and triple teams...niners may have gotten a clue last week when they actually started to pass to other players...regardless ..i have said this before mariucci is a conservative coach who keeps it simple and plays the high percentage plays (short passes and running) which minimizes the turnovers...and niners dont run up scores ...with him at the helm... what does bother me however is that denver ran all over the niners ...now denver and seattle are obviously not the same caliber...but certainly denver may have given a clue as to whether this niner defense is able to stop the run or not...

good luck...cooz

Tough

Tough

That Denver game was not a good one for the niners at all. I prefer (because i bet them tonight) to look at last week where they were able to contain Faulk. The only thing that is really against us is the return of some injured efensive players for seattle, and the home crowd.

Still, my money has to be on the better team, especially when they are like 11-1-0 on Monday nights.

Best of luck to all.

karac.. i think you have to look at the whole season rather than one game....take into account the bad games and the good games...the bad games can reveal quite a bit about teams...in regards to the niners last week...sure they contained faulk but the rams were down early in that one so they had to throw...and with a back up at qb on top of that...what bothers me about the denver game is that denver was up...and so they played time control ball..and ran the ball and then ran the ball some more even though the niners knew what was coming....so the key in this game is whether sanfran can control the clock by running and being able to stop the run...umm i guess thats obvious but you get the point...

best of luck to us tonight...cooz

oops

Did not mean to imply that i am only taking into consideration the last game, but it is the most relevant game isn't it? The niners played a horrible game against the giants to start the season, but won, giving up only 43 rushing yards to a rushing team. They then played bad against Denver to follow that up, and yes gave up alot of rush yards in the process. They then regrouped to beat washington, giving up only 57 rush yards. They had a bye and then came back to dominate the rams, giving up only 88 yards rushing.

So they have had one bad week against the run, in their worst overall game. The other weeks they have been relatively stellar against the run. Granted the troublesome factor is the one really good team they played is when they gave up the most rush yards to, but who would you compare Seattle to? Not Denver. More along the lines of the Giants, Redskins, and Rams. So, hopefully this will all amount to no rushing yards for the Seahawks tonight and we can all relax and count our money.

Here's hoping...
