Yes, I'm insane, but after a 9 month stint in an institution that appeared to be more insane than I was, I find myself teetering on the brink of insanity once again due to my lack of ability to pick ONE fucking NFL game correctly. Sure, I get the occasional win like every nerdy 15 year old gets to pet the beaver on prom, but I rack up zero consistent streaks of good fortune. The days of continous hours of therapy, checkers, scrabble, and rook with the other mentally challenged people on my floor seem to be the more pleasurable experience compared to this debacle I've found myself in lately. Not only I'm a certifiable documented nut job, but I got this obsession of the mind and body of alcholism. Hi, I'm NEEMER, I'm an alcoholic(it's an anonymous program). Hadn't thought too much about twisting the seal off my grey goose bottle that I've got hidden in the back of the toilet in the upstairs guestroom, but when that damn packer game didn't go over the total, I found myself taking a shower up there peeking in the toilet just to see if my little buddy was still laying in his water bowl like a glass fish. For 2 1/2 years I've managed not to break open that bottle in case of emergency. But damn it, if these Lions don't cover the number tomorrow, I might have to see if that grey goose still tastes the same as it did 2 1/2 years ago. It might just have watered down a tad and not be as stout as it once was. So any opinions on this game would be much appreciated for ole Neemer's sanity.

In addition, I'm allergic to that damn bottle cuz everytime I pour a little bit in me, I breakout in handcuffs and felonies. I met some good people in the institution and the xbar motel, but a man can only play checkers so much and carve his initials in concrete walls. Things I enjoy: poontang, gambling, drinking, and smoking. I've given up the last two so I got two vices left. I've thought about giving up the gambling but then I'd be consumed with chasing the beef curtains 24-7, which is very damn expensive! If I lose this mnf game then ole NEEMER got to make a decision between pigskin & poontang.

I would give up the gambling totally. Don't think you will but people say the Lions are due for a letdown?

Don't see them letting down even though they may not cover. On paper they are much better than Chicago. Why would they letdown. It's against the Bears a divisional rival who has bitch slapped the lions for a while now. Oh yeah the game is on Monday night as well. I think the lions want to prove they are real on prime time!!

At the same time this is a big game for the bears and they will be ready to play, I'm taking detroit small

I can never seem to figure the Bears out. From week to week you never seem to know which Cutler or which Bears D will show up? So tonight would be a small play just for action? (flip your shiniest Abe Lincoln!) or a no play for me.

I do know one thing for sure. I really enjoyed the "Monday Night insanity help" post that I just read. That was some funny shit!! I apologize if it was not intended to be funny and the writer is really messed up. Think we all are fighting some of those same demons at times, and I know that I was relating to some of what I just read. Thanks for the Monday Morning entertainment. :mj07:

Would love to get together and have some coffee and play some Checkers. $20 bucks a game of course!!

Peace, G.J

NEEMER. I found myself thinking the same insanity in week 4 of NFL after having 3 consecutive weeks of losing all my CFB winnings back to the man on sunday.

One word of advice. THUNDER. visit his thread early and often. Guy is doing a very good job (along with severa others) in nfl this year. :0008

You need to take a SERIOUS break from gambling on games.....if you want to gamble...get into an entrance fee contest or something along those lines....but if you are down and out now...regardless if you W/L on this game....you will be right back where you are at some point this season starring again at the bottle of goose.....

I am not one to preach....but your thread looks like a call of help man...and help is NOT with picking a one game winner.

I gamble on what I can afford to lose and not risking family/kids/friends or anything else on my entertainment.....If you start betting with desperation....you will 100% crumble at some point

If this is truly a call for help and not some BS....I wish you the best man....keep some positive mojo with you and remember what is truly important is all I am saying....life is short and find your happy place man

I wish you luck and god bless :0008

neemer,
great post. still laughting my ass off. If I were you would take the cap off the grey goose just before gametime and make sure bottle is empty by the end of the 3rd quarter. you will not know if you won or not till in the morning when you check the scores and will feel so bad it will not matter.

also like the lions and over.

best of luck

If you can afford to lose money and still pay the bills then keep gambling. You are a grown man, and should know when to quit and step away. Should not ask anyone what to do. Sport betting is a job to most on here. They put their time and study and try to make money. Good luck at what you decide to do. Gamble responsible. That is the key.

i was a meaningless field goal with 30-odd seconds left from having a near- perfect day(small halftime wager) yesterday.....the idea of hitting everything meant something.....ruined the whole slate for me...

i feel ya`...some days it just doesn`t pay to knaw through the straps ...

Thanks for all the kind and meaningful posts. Means a lot to an ole bum like me. The Goose is safe n secure. Figured if the Lions don't cover the 5 tonight, ole NEEMER just won't put a $1 in the AA basket for a few months(years). Nonetheless, it's good to see ole Loophole back from years past. :00hour

Well said

With that being said...I've had a hell of a two week run. As much as I wanted to play this game tonight....I didn't have a good feel for the game and laid off. Action junkies always get their nuts kicked.

Good luck and hope you hit it.

If I were u, I would stick to poontang and smoking ! Its half of ur guilty pleasures that u will still maintain. If u must wager, bet keep in mind that gambling is a longevity thing, w win goals, lost limits, money management, bankroll , knowledge and discipline ( by john Patrick). I Have been trying to master that philosophy .
U must have all those components to survive this HOBBY!!!!!
U must control ur gambling and not allow ur gambling impulses to control u!
Bottom line...........IS THE RISK, VERSUS THE REWARD, WORTH IT?????????????????????
