The Packers have underperformed at Lambeau and now hit the
road for the second time this year to face a Panthers team that
has revenge for a Monday Night loss on Opening Night last
year when they were caught flat-footed coming off a Super
Bowl appearance. Carolina is off a non-conference road loss
to Minnesota and had the bye week to plot their revenge. They
need a win badly and the defense has been its usual tough self
and will pose a challenge for the Packers offense. The effects of
losing both starting guards in the offseason are clearly showing,
rendering Ahman Green ineffective (54.9 yards over last 10 games).
TE Bubba Franks (knee) is still questionable for Green Bay as well.
Jake Delhomme has been inconsistent in the early season, but
facing a thin Packers pass defense could allow for an increase
in his production.
