Monday nite...

Texas Tech -11 over North Texas ***
TT is 9-0 at home but hasn't played anyone...they did beat Prairie View 79-51 at home...you might say why that game has any meaning..but it does....let me take you back a week ago... North Texas knocks off Creighton by 4 at home...one of the worst games ever to watch...Creighton goes 2-14 from the 3 in the 1st half..all open uncontested jumpers...NT who shoots 63% from the FT line is 14-14..NT has a 27 point lead..then with a minute left Creighton is down one...almost won the game when a North Texas player taking the ball out runs the floor on a dead ball...travel but Creighton misses the shot. NT hangs on and celebrates...now they play Prairie View one of the worst teams in the country[2-10]...ranks last or almost last in everything..offense and defense...but they go up to Denton and upset North Texas 70-67....thats why the TT win over PV has some meaning....I know comparing scores,wins,losses,etc isn't the best way to predict but NT is not a very good team....they are athletic and quick and that's it...Williams is so hot and cold.They have no basketball IQ and so does the coach...TT has Tubby and he does have some talented gds in Williams and Turner...Tubby's team is morel organized then the past TT teams..think he will take advantage of the Mean Green tonite.

Just got back from the Texas-Rice game...Texas played horrible and it was a 3 pt game with 3 minutes to go...Texas gds had trouble through out the game...with OU coming in next week they better get their act together...Myles the big guy is raw but still learning... Rice played their hearts out and almost upset the Longhorns...

I like Tubby Smith, but this team he has is very young and not a great IQ team itself. They turn the ball over and really don't have any go to scorers. I bet Houston last week because of this and am betting mean green tonight. You are right they play stupid, and their defense is so, so. but I think they got the two best athletes on the court so I had to take the 12. Good luck, I appreciate the time you take and you have good knowledge on the smaller schools which so many don't pay attention too. Thank you for all your time and effort over the years Box. Arrow, I watched the game and you are right. TT did not impress me to much..no true pt gd and no real scorers...NT was down by 9 or 10 with a few minutes to go so the score could of gone either way.. then North Texas takes a few 3's and misses them all and then fouls..one 3 from Williams was about a 37 ft shot and was an airball....I got lucky at the end and TT won by 15..but appreciate your take on the game...
After watching BYU-Zaga the other nite and seeing some real basketball, then watching tonite its amazing how different the game is...NT is so athletic with all greyhounds and not one true basketball player....that is where coaching comes in...glad to see Tubby back in the game...I think Lubbock is the last stop for coaches on the "hoops train".
