lost that bet .. 0-1 for now ..

Best Play :

1. Cleveland/Utah Clev -2.5

The line has just moved which is not that good a sign since more money is being laid on Cleveland than Utah. But looking at the game I feel that Cleveland can win this game outright by 7-8 points.

Am not giving a lot of importance to data for previous game since the turning point for Cleveland has been the last 6-8 games or so. Jazz was in a funk before the all star game and are now feasting on the sad teams of East. Have been following the Jazz play for last 3-4 games and even though they are 4-0 in this road trip so far I think that fatigue will start to set in. Yesterday they shot horribly from the free throw line. I have played basketball for my school and one reason for missing free throws is lack of concentration and this can be only due to fatigue (they are paid more than enuf to concentrate if they are not tired)

Also Jazz had 2 make a huge comback yesterday against NYK as they outscored the Knicks 16-5 at the end of the game. I was expecting Knicks to fold up early in third quarter but somehow Houston was keeping them in it.

Certain things to look at here :

Confidence of the Cleveland team. This team has lost enough games already to have a letdown at home.

Return of Murray. This guy plays great and he has been shooting the ball extremely well. Jazz does not have a lot of players who can guard the perimeter people well. Yesterday when NYK was shooting the ball well Jazz was in a bit of trouble as no one could guard Houston. I expect some of the same. Also expect the Jazz players like Russel and Starks etc to get in foul trouble here.

On the glass I think Jazz may have an advantage depending on who is on the floor. But the return of Tyrone Hill has given a huge boost to the Cleveland team and he played great against the bull having a double-double. I think Cleveland can have edge on the glass if Hill/Mihm/Igla... play strong.

Andre Miller has also been shooting the ball well. The Jazz bench other than Padgett not shooting good. Malone has improved his numbers but no real big guy to contend with for him till now.

I think Cleveland will push the ball up the floor fast and real factor of fatigue should set in from second quarter.

Rest everything depends on luck

Adding

Utah/Cleveland Over 96 first half.

Am not betting on whole game right now as I think Jazz will get tired in second half and score less than first half. They should be fresher at the beginning of game and this should translate into more points in the first half at least.

Cleveland has been coming out strong and lets see if the trend continues.

What a horrible show by Cleveland ..

congratz 2 the guys who played Utah. My first instinct was to play Utah yesterday but afterwards my mind changed. Looking back it seemed like a logical play but it was not a play with the trends. I had seen that Utah was 8-1 ATS after playing the Knicks and also were 8-1 ATS before playing Denver.

Wowo ... ignored everything .. in hindsight what dragon says was right :

One of these teams has to lose and its hard to place who. Opinion is also divided and so better to stay off the game.

Playing another best bet :

Portaland / LA Clippers Over 196.5

In the head to head matchup the OVer/Under is 8-2

When playing against a team in their division or Conference in the last 10 games Portland are :

9-1-0 Over.


From stats web site :

The over is 13-1 in the Blazers last 14 overall.
The over is 4-1 in PORT's last five on the road.
The over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.
The over is 7-3 in the Clippers last 10 overall.

Both teams have been playing good and also like to play a fast game. Portland does not have to travel so should be rested inspite of starters playing good minutes in the last game.

Clippers are rested so should be ready 2 go.

I think the final total points will be : 220.

Almost all my instincts were wrong. Should have taken the opposite of my instincts like George in Seinfeld.


Pretty painful day : Looking back am trying to see If it was a bad call or if it was just a lack of effort by the players of the respective teams or mebbe both. :shrug:

Have got some help on money mangement and will be sticking to a unit system with a max limit on each bet. Gotta learn a lot and guess its better late than never.
